Customers are mixed about the noise. Some mention the sounds and songs are fine, the swing is very quiet, and the white noise and music works also. Customers are mixed about the speed of the swing. Some mention that the various speeds are great, while others say that the speed is not very well on it. The rocking feature is either too soft or moves way too fast. The gliding function seems to only have 3 speeds, fast, faster, and the slowest speed seems a bit fast.

"...Only reason I didn’t give it five stars is because the speed past level 3 is ridiculously fast ... also it would make an annoying noise so we had to..." Read more

"...I love the motion more than a swing. I love the speed settings even though we never go past 2...." Read more

"...1, and then a few minutes later I notice that it's randomly speeding up to a LOT faster than 1, like maybe speed level 4 or 5..." Read more

Customers are mixed about the durability of the swing. Some mention it's sturdy and safe, with a strong vibrator that makes a ton of noise. However, others say that it broke after two weeks and is not made with quality materials.

This is the first review I’ve ever written and I have chose to spend my son’s nap time to do so because this glider has changed our world. Every baby is different, but his poor sleeping hit us around week 3. The nurses warned me he was a spitfire at birth, since he hated being swaddled from the get go and sleeps with arms above his head or on his face. When we first brought him home from the hospital, we used a Halo bassinet with a wedge due to his reflux. He seemed to be ‘normal’ in the since he would wake up every 2 hours to eat. I had a c-section so the height of the Halo was nice to prevent so much bending over. Around week 3 our son would cry and cry, I would rock, attempt a body swaddle, lay him down, walk the hall, sway and repeat or mix up until he started to calm down and/or fall asleep. (They say lay them down drowsy, yea right!) Everytime I put him down, I held his arms so he wouldn’t have the Moro reflex and wake himself up. After about 3-5 minutes down, he would wake up. This went on for weeks!!! We were desperate for sleep, so we tried all the things ‘bad’: tummy sleep, rock n play, cosleeping, thick blanket to make halo feel smaller...while panicking it wasn’t safe. The only thing that worked was him sleeping on our chests or us continuously swaying him. We attempted our mommaroo which he likes in daytime but it didn’t work all night. The first night we put him in this he went back to going down fine and waking up every 2 hours! We could handle that, by night three he slept for 5 hours straight and we both thought something was wrong...it was magical! I put the vibration on and also only set it to ‘1’. I love it reclines due to his reflux and eventually can transition to flat to move to crib. My son is now 8 weeks old and I’m so thankful I bought this. One of the only downfalls is he is a very big boy and will grow out of this in less than a month....but if your child likes movement to sleep it’s a 10! Purchase immediately!!!

The rocker's instructions aren't the clearest. However, once you figure it out, it is relatively simple and only 1 person is needed to set it all up.

At the beginning, my husband did not like it because it did not work the way we expected it to work. We plugged it in and tried it. It didn't work. No lights, no sounds, no rocking movement. I wondered if it needed batteries to somehow form a connection so we decided to get the D cell batteries (it takes like 4) and it works!

The manual says when you put the batteries in and plug it in, it should not use the batteries, but there was no proper indication to show if it was using power or the batteries still. So we conducted an experinent. We left the batteries in and detached the power supply. We used the batteries until it's completely drained. We knew it was drained when the light was super weak, flickering and the whole thing turns off after 1 rock. We plugged it in and it works! The light is bright and the rocker worked perfect. We have since replaced the batteries as we occassionally use it without the power supply whenever we need to move the bassinet around when we have guest over.

Now for features! We absolutely love the fact that there is 3 positions - flat, incline and swing. My baby loves the swing and incline position. The swing position allows to see us clearly. The rocker comes with white noise and instrumental music. We don't use these buttons as our baby doesn't really enjoy them so I can't review them but they sound pretty basic. Now for the best part - the automatic rock function. It has 6 different settings. There are reviews that say their rocker barely rocks. Not sure if they got a faulty one or their power isn't strong enough but this rocker ROCKS. We NEVER go above a 2. Sometimes a 2 feels intense. Keep in mind that when your baby soothes his/herself, the rocker takes that momentum too and sometimes that makes it either slowdown for a moment or move a little faster. And yes! The mechanically clicks can be loud when you turn on the rocker but it's honestly not super terrible. I think it helps my baby fall asleep because of the consistency in noise clicks. So if clicking noise annoys you, don't buy it. It's not silent.

This rocker has been a lifesaver. My baby was spoiled and wants to be rocked all the time. We invented in this because we were so tired from manually rocking him and we have 0 regrets buying this. Yes, we had a rough start but now it's a must-have in our books especially as first time parents. Our baby is now almost 5 months and we had this rocker since he was almost 2 months old. He is slowly but surely outgrowing it and my husband is really sad this auto rocker doesn't come in a bigger size. So yeah, i highly recommend it if your child loves being rocked. Save your hands and strength, get this auto rocker.

We've had this glider for about two weeks and so far we (and our 5-week-old daughter) really love it. Our girl is getting good at sleeping on her own at night, but for daytime sleep she really only slept well on us or in the stroller. We could occasionally get her to nap in a traditional baby swing, but usually the swing would just keep her happy but awake.

She hasn't started magically sleeping through the night or anything, but this glider has been the key in getting her to:
a) sleep for longer than 20-30 minutes at a time during the day
b) let us put her down "drowsy but awake"

Other things we like about this glider:
* she's much more comfortable swaddled in this than in a swing. Sitting inclined in a swing, the swaddle would always ride up on her face.
* she can move her head and body freely (way more so than in a Rock n Play or swing), which helps her get gas out without it waking her up, plus we don't feel bad about leaving her in this for long naps (not as worried about flat head/developmental issues with "baby holding devices")
* because she's laying flat in a bassinet with sides there's much less visual stimulation when she's trying to fall asleep, which helps a lot. Full disclosure: we didn't put on the mobile, and we actually drape a very thin burp cloth/receiving blanket over the top third of the bassinet where her head is. The raised sides keep the blanket well above her face, but limits what she can see when she's trying to fall asleep and makes it a little darker for her. And yes, we can still see her, and yes, we only do this when we're supervising her.
* laying flat seems to help her keep her pacifier in better (no gravity to fight?). We found a nookums paci animal really helpful for this too (again, yes, she only uses this when we're around)
* we find it a lot easier to transfer a drowsy baby to this than to a swing/rock and play (more open = less knocking around trying to stealthily put her in).
* we're hoping the transition to sleeping in a bassinet/crib during the day will be easier since she's already used to sleeping (almost) flat
* love that it plugs in instead of using batteries
* overall footprint isn't too large

We haven't had any of the mechanical issues that people have mentioned, but I'll update if we do. The only thing I've noticed is it does make a louder clicking noise if the bassinet and motor get out of sync (like if the bassinet is already moving a little when you turn it on or if you mess the bassinet with the motor still running - like I did one time to try to pop the pacifier back in her mouth).

UPDATE: Our daughter is now 5 months old and we still love this thing. She used the dreamglider for almost all her naps from about 6 weeks old until 3-4 months, when she started sleeping more reliably in her crib. We've only used it for sleeping a few times recently, when she was overtired and needed the motion to help her soothe her into a catnap. BUT now we're using it as a swing almost daily and we really like it for that, too!
