Product Description
These heel pain wedges are designed to reduce pressure on one’s muscles tendons and joints, making them well suited for easing lateral or medial heel pain, whether it stems from heel spurs, heel bursitis, plantar fasciitis, achilles tendonitis or simply a long day on one’s feet. The pair of inserts have a raised portion that is ¼” tall on one side for lateral or medial unloading. One can simply flip the insert so that the raised area is at the medial part of the heel for medial unloading or lateral rea for lateral unloading. The insoles have self-adhesive backing so they will stay in place while allowing for repositioning if necessary. The wedges are made of a soft, silicone-like material that is comfort against one’s foot. It may be used in conjunction with other insoles or placed directly in the shoe. These latex-free inserts fit easily within one’s shoes, including both athletic and dress shoes. The medial and lateral shoe inserts can be used to treat a number of conditions such as plantar fasciitis, achilles tendonitis, stress fractures, pinched nerves, heel spurs, heel pad syndrome, heel bursitis, valgus and varum knee deformities, knee osteoarthritis, and other heel, foot, ankle, knee, and hip disorders. When worn laterally (with the raised portion towards the outside of your legs), they counteract varus knee deformity (bow-leggedness) and can help reduce or prevent medial knee osteoarthritis and medial knee pain. When they are worn as medial heel cushions (with the raised portion towards the inside of your legs), they counteract valgus alignment (knock-knees) and can reduce the effects of bilateral knee osteoarthritis and lateral knee pain. These silicone heel inserts are available in a universal size that will fit most adults. Both men and women, with sizes 5+, can wear them.

Just rinse it to re-set the adhesive. You can keep it from slipping in running shoes, etc. by securing it under the in-sole. No, the product does not break. It's made of soft silicone. If you got one that cracks, you may have received a knock-off.
As for whether it works, I had a sports injury several years ago after which I unknowingly started turning my left foot out to alleviate pain. Unfortunately, as the injury healed, the slight outward position of my foot began to cause knee misalignment, calf pain, and foot discomfort on hikes. My recent onset of back pain may also be related.
I've been wearing this orthotic for a little over a week, and can definitely tell a difference in alignment and some pain relief which I expect will only get better. The insert is reversible so it can also work if you turn your feet too far in. I suspect it works just as well for that.
Thanks for making a great product that lives up to expectations.

My only complaint is that the adhesion (and wash / readhesion) of these is great, a little too much in that when I tried to remove them from my shoe the second time I used them, the corner tore out. But they are sticky enough that I just pushed that corner back into place and it stuck to itself. I've been using them off and on for about 3 weeks. Based on that time frame, I think that they could be used a few times/week for several months easily. I think I'll order a couple more sets so that I have them on hand at all times. I was buying all kinds of arch support items from the stores and realized that for pronation, that's the wrong type of support, or really doesn't help much. Ditch the arch supports and get these little wedges instead. Highly recommend if you have pronated feet.
I then but a thin tissue paper cover over the top so they would not stick to my socks and that seems to work.
They sometimes shift around in the shoe and need to be cleaned and re-inserted.
I was hoping for an insert that would not need so much fussing.
It does have a good feel once in place when I am walking.
