Cons: the single bar handle makes it too easy for the bag to tip on its side when you go over a curb, or hit a bump in the sidewalk just right. The mesh pockets for a water bottle can get torn easily if this happens when you've got a bottle in there. It's also not terribly water proof... the inside gets damp in some heavy rain after a long walk, but it doesn't get soaked at least and none of my stuff was damaged. It also has a bad habit of falling over towards the front when you have it fully loaded sitting next to you in class. Make sure you have the front of it facing your desk or something to keep this from happening.
Overall, it's a good bag. Definitely worth the price, especially since the wheels shredded on the other brand of bag! Samsonite bags have always worked out best for me.
Edit: 11/29/12
The rivets inside the bottom of this bag have eventually poked through the fabric, and they've torn up the edges of my books in some places. Not bad enough that I can't sell them back, but it's still annoying.
The release button on the handle bar has broken, and I couldn't extend it without reaching into the pocket to manually release the bar. I stuck a few toothpicks in the little hole where the button should go, so I could extend it, but it won't go all the way back down anymore, and it no longer locks in the up position.
The top handle tears eventually if you use it to carry it up and down stairs, so you have to leave the backpack pockets partially unzipped so you can grab the backpack straps.
The laptop pocket is not very well padded, and rests against the bar in the back, so it's not very safe for a laptop if you've got a lot of books in the front.
Anyways, it's an okay bag. It held together for the most part, and continued to roll, and still does. I'm probably gonna buy a new bag though, but not this one again.
Edit: 7/2/13
I went ahead and bought this one again, since I couldn't find one I thought would hold together better. I put a piece of cardboard at the bottom of the bag to keep the rivets from poking through and tearing up my books. I've only used it a couple months so far, and it's held together.
I just wanted to point out that this bag is not in any way water resistant. I have a cheap laptop bag that water runs off of easily, but with this bag, it instantly soaks through. If you're not walking in the rain too far, it probably won't be an issue. But we had a flood on campus, and I was standing at the edge of some deep water taking pictures, when a truck drove through and sent a wave of water up a foot deep. I grabbed my bag out of the water within a second. Now, I wouldn't expect any bag to be completely water proof, but as quickly as I got it out of the water, you'd think things would just be a bit damp. Nope, it soaked through that quickly, and ruined my books. I'm sure most people aren't going to be standing next to flood waters, but just so you know, the fabric is about as water resistant as denim.
In any case, I need to buy a new bag now since you can't run a wheeled pack through the washing machine, and flood waters are too filthy to just hose it off, and I am going to buy a different brand. Hopefully whichever one I pick next will let water roll off it.
