Allison Hale had always played second fiddle. She didn’t win the science fair, have a million friends, or become the world’s best mom. That was her sister, Betsy. However, Ally’s managed to do something her sister couldn’t, connect her family’s failing business to the wealthy Carmichaels through her engagement to their son, Brent. All she has to do is plan the wedding of the century with the hottest wedding planner in town, Megan Kinkaid. How could she have ever guessed that Megan and her zest for life would threaten everything she’d carefully planned?

Megan Kinkaid knows how to produce a wedding for the history books and she’s not about to miss out on the chance to tackle high-profile Brent Carmichael’s. His fiancée, however, is not who Megan imagined for shiny Brent. Ally Hale is beautiful, earnest, selfless, and fun. She’s also everything Megan ever wanted for herself, and their chemistry hovers in the stratosphere. But can she make Ally see that there’s more to life than making others happy before it’s too late?

As any one that reads romances knows the plot is written in stone. Fall in love, then break up with two broken hearts, find their way back, and then happily ever after. How ever the way it happens, the characters and the way they originally find each other, the breaking up part, is the creative part of the story, and adds originality to the story.

Allison & Megan have undeniable chemistry & are smitten almost instantly. Their relationship has to weather several storms. But you can always count on Brayden to deliver in the cute & snappy dialogue; the deserts & the wine! I deduct .25 stars for its length- I think it could’ve been cut a bit shorter but the story was one of the stronger ones in recent Brayden releases

4 stars because Brayden has never disappointed and 70% of the book was the type of story I expected from her! But the last 30% honestly lost my interest a bit. Both characters were great and lovable, secondary characters were also great, loved all the quirky discourse as per usual. What I love most about Brayden's books in general is the strength of her MCs and how their relationships persevere with good reasoning that usually lead to positive outcomes...it's not always as easy as I make out but there is no unnecessary angst for the sake of it, which I love!

POTENTIAL SPOILERS

I felt that the last 30% of this story showed unnecessary angst and also the MCs as weak, which seemed out of character. Megan makes certain choices from fear that seemed to come out of nowhere - and you know, I can sort of understand her and even accept her characters trajectory. BUT Ally, who seemed to be strength personified makes choices that were just beyond my grasp of her character! Brayden is awesome at writing characters who openly communicate and don't fall into the trope of silly misunderstandings compounded by immature choices...this wasn't delivered in the last 30%. I can't understand how Brent could remain decent with Ally after what she put him through and how Ally didn't put Betsy in her place. Loved Megan learning patience and how Ally didn't forgive Megan straight away but overall I couldn't lose myself in the story due to the way the MCs dealt with everything, so I was less invested in whether they ended up together and how that came about. If this were any other author I would've given the book 3.5.

A very sweet and thoughtful book. A few moments/characters/situations are a bit far-fetched, but I truly enjoyed it. Excellent humor!

Megan Kinkaid owned and managed the number one event and wedding planner, ‘Soiree’ with one aim. Make every celebration simply the best and make it all look easy even though anyone who has gotten married knows it can be one of the most stressful times of their lives. She along with her best friend Kelsey and a few others worked hard to make it appear stress free for the bride. Her own personal life was just the way she liked it, quiet with an occasional hook-up. Getting involved wasn’t something she wanted to try again. Been there, done that. Now she has a chance to plan the wedding of Brent Carmichael and bride, Allison Hale.
Allison Hale was used to doing what other people wanted of her. Not exactly a pushover she certainly didn’t push back on any plans made for her. Now Brent was a super nice guy but his family were known for their money and the ruthless way the Carmichael’s conducted business. Now before family and friends Brent asked her to marry him, Allison went along with the plan. It didn’t help that her family also operated a little bakery and were eagerly awaiting for their prize ‘Dash Bar’ to make its way to the grocery stores operated by the Carmichael’s.
None expected the attraction between Allison and her wedding planner Megan. Great characters with a believable story line. I’ve always enjoyed Ms Brayden's books but this one was special. Very, very enjoyable read.

Honestly, I liked Megan and Ally, and that made the book decent. That is all I will say about it.
