Product Description
LAVARIO is the best portable washing machine in the world. Our patented “power flow technology” is totally unique because it drives water through fabric with amazing cleaning action. Only minimal arm strength is needed because gravity does the work on the down-stroke and buoyancy makes the up-stroke easy. Lavario is non-electric, portable, east to use, and proudly manufactured in the USA. Lavario can be used in a bathtub, shower, with a kitchen sink, or anywhere convenient to drain water. Lavario is gentle on delicates and tough on dirt. Great for RV living, apartment dwellers, dorms, fine fabrics & athletic wear, cloth diapers, pet blankets, and more. Make less trips to the laundromat, save time and money. Lavario is also ideal when you have only a few items to wash and it doesn't make sense to use a big electric washer.
LAVARIO has been awarded both a Utility Patent: 9,752,264, and a Design Patent: D816,923
4 SIMPLE STEPS

|
|
---|---|---|---|
Fill With Water & DetergentWe suggest 10 gallons (5 to wash and 5 to rinse), but you may certainly use less for smaller loads and to conserve water. We recommend cool to lukewarm water (50°F - 75°F). Max water temperature should be 100°F, which is equivalent to a typical hot shower. |
Put Clothes In BasketA typical load might consist of a pair of jeans, shirt, t-shirt, underwear and socks. Fill the basket loosely so that the water flows freely through the clothes. |
Easy Up & Down MotionOur patented "Powerflow" technology drives water through your clothes for an amazing clean. Only minimal arm strength is needed because gravity does the work on the down-stroke and buoyancy makes the up-stroke easy. |
Drain & RinseLavario is easy to drain in a sink, tub or outside. A standard garden hose may be attached when you wish to direct water away from where you're using it. When done, simply hang them on a drying rack or clothes line. |
PATENTED "POWERFLOW" TECHNOLOGY
- Non-electric and simple to use
- Generates powerful waterflow which blasts dirt from fabric
- 5 gallon basket holds the equivalent of one small electric load
- Easy to fill in tub, shower or with a sink or hose
- Ultra-light and compact
- Awarded 2 Patents: Utility Patent: 9,752,264, Design Patent: D816,923
- Made in the USA

I liked the Lavario because it is upright, and I'm short enough for this to work well for me as a regular washer, but they are small loads if you want to just use it for unmentionables, or just stinky socks, or baby clothes that you don't want to contaminate your regular clothes. After your clothes are rinsed and have drained enough, you can put them in another plastic wet clothes basket, and either put them to an electric clothes spinner to get the water out (I happen to have one that I used with that crank ball-like washer), or you can hand wring them and hang them up. The spinner is the best way to get the water out, but you CAN live without the spinner if you have to.
All in all, I am very happy with the Lavario Portable Clothes Washer. I take my sheets & large items to the Laundry Mat because after all if you are in an apartment or condo, how would you hang them up? You will really like the Lavario for traveling in an RV as well. It's so much easier and less messy than that twirling hand crank unit others sell. I hope you consider the Lavario for your portable clothes washing needs.
In trying it out, I wanted to give it the most rigorous test I could so that I would know the validity of the claims on cleaning ability.
My son had a pair of muddy jeans. Dry dirt was in clumps around the bottom of the pants. He also had another pair of pants that needed to be cleaned, so I washed the two in the washer to test how well it would clean.
Now, if I was going to use my clothes washer, I would have scraped some of the dirt off the pants before getting started, but I wanted to see how good this hand washer was. I decided that I would do a regular wash first to see what dirt would come out. (The normal wash given in the instruction book is to cycle up-and-down approximately 10 times, soak 5 minutes, and then cycle up-and-down approximately 10 more times.) I lost count of the cycles, and I also did not count testing of the company’s claim of how easy it is to use. You see, my mom is 73, and she has problems with her wrists and shoulder, and I wanted her to do some cycles to see if she thought this was something she could manage. She was surprised, she said it was easier than it looked while I was doing it. She was able to push it up-and-down several times without any problems. Big win.
With washing machines, they have a normal cycle as well as a heavy-duty cycle, so I was not expecting a miracle. It also says in the notes that you may need to soak clothes longer than 5 minutes to loosen stubborn dirt. As one of the pictures show there was just a little bit of some dirt left after the 1st normal washing.
I did a second normal wash and the pants came out clean. The rinse water was clear. I am very pleased.
To ring the clothes out, the book says to take the clothes out of the basket and then use the basket to press the clothes against the bottom of bucket. This does not get out as much water as I would like, but that's OK, I can just ring them out by hand.
I highly recommend this product.
One thing that would make this product better would be a line marker at the two-thirds level so I would not have to guess as to the amount of water during filling.

I am not sure that portability is a big selling point, as the lavario is bulky and a weird shape with the handle installed, but it is low impact for clothes rather than bashing them around inside an electric machine, and for me cleans better than the hand crank style manual machines.
