GOOD POINTS
+ easy to assemble (less than half an hour for one person)
+ does not take up a lot of floorspace when in use, about as much as a single chair
+ very quiet!
+ I haven't had the need to move it yet, but it is simple to fold and light enough that I could just lift it if need be
+ the amount of resistance, from the least to most, is a good range for me
+ the bike is the right size for me (5'2) on the shortest setting
+ pedals are nice and grippy
NEUTRAL POINTS
o this bike is not meant for hardcore exercise where you're standing and things like that. I didn't need that, but if you do, this is not for you
o unlike other reviews I read I do think the HR monitor does work, but it takes a good while to register, like >20s of gripping the handles. If watching your pulse is important to you, I think you may need to leave it on that channel
o it would be nice if this hooked up to an app or something to track your exercise, but considering the budget price of this model I'm fine that it doesn't
NEGATIVE POINTS
- as stated in other reviews, the seat is pretty uncomfortable. I think as I use this for longer periods I may need to add a thin cushion or something
it is quiet and folds down quite compactly -- HOWEVER I was extremely disappointed to discover that the odometer and distance settings only come in miles -- I called and they said there was no way to switch I to kilometres -- I bought this product in Canada through a Canadian company -- this should be declared front and centre ... now I have the annoying task of needing to convert my mileage to km and km to miles -- annoying, but not the end of the world --
Here were the complaints.
1) People over 5'6 their knees will hit the handle bars. - Not true, I am 5'8 and my friend is 5'10 and neither of our knees hit the bars.
2) Instructions were very hard to follow. - Honestly, you do not need instructions for this bike. It's literally unbolt the bolts for the 2 legs, the seat and the handle and tighten the bolts again. Took 5 minutes to assemble and I'm a gay male, no where near being a handyman when it comes to building anything.
3) It takes 5 minutes to put away - You literally pull the pin and move the bike up a few inches and put the pin back in, I timed myself the very first time and it took a whole 4 seconds. If 4 seconds is a long time, then I don't know.
4) The tension on the bike - The tension on the bike is fine. It reminds me of a spin bike from spin class. Yes if you are an Olympic gymnast and you get on this bike after being on $5,000.00 gym bikes this will seem crappy. It made me sweat, I think it's perfectly fine.
5) Hard to get on the seat - That's only if you are under 5 feet tall, it's really no different then getting on a spin bike or a normal outside bike and your seat is high because you are taller.
6) The seat is very hard - Well you aren't moving your butt when you are peddling so simply put a pillow where you sit.
7) Should I get the bike with the back support seat? - If you ever have been on a typical bike you use outside do you ever see anyone resting their back on the back of the seat? It is no different to a normal outside bike.
Pro tips, I put arm resistance bands on the handle bars so you can also work out your arms and not just your legs. I think this was a great product for the price.
