How to install the replacement battery?

Step one:The battery is secured with three Philips screws.One in the rear of the handle,and two in the underside of the battery.

Step two:Remove the three screws.Scrure in place with the three existing/supplied screws.

There are several steps you can take to help you get maximum performance from your power tools battery:

Prevent the Memory Effect - Keep the battery healthy by fully charging and then fully discharging it at least once every two to three weeks.
Keep the Battery Clean - It's a good idea to clean dirty battery contacts with a cotton swab and alcohol. This helps maintain a good connection between the battery and the portable device.
Exercise the Battery - Do not leave the battery dormant for long periods of time. We recommend using the battery at least once every two to three weeks.
Battery Storage - If you don't plan on using the battery for a month or more,store it in a clean, dry, cool place away from heat and metal objects. Do not leave the battery on charger station over 3 days unless in charging. Ni-Cd, Ni-MH and Li-ion batteries will self-discharge during storage; remember to recharge the batteries before use.

Dyson pulsing instead of running normally?

My Dyson hand held vacuum started by running in pulses, so I cleaned and then replaced the filter. That resolved that issue BUT then it decided it was time to run for only short periods of time and finally after only lasting for 5 minutes, I decided to tackle replacing the battery. The replacement cost using a Dyson battery pack was considerably more expensive than this battery pack. Removal and replacing the battery pack only requires a screw driver which was provided with the battery pack. Was a 6 minute job. Hardest part was aligning the trigger control.

This battery seems even better than the original. It runs strong and I have yet to run out of suction between charges. Very happy with this battery.

We love our Dyson V7 and use it daily. When the battery died and Dyson was out of stock on batteries, we turned to Amazon for generic batteries. Price was cheaper, so I wasn't expecting the same performance. The first time we purchased a generic battery from a different company, it lasted a year before starting to glitch (shutting off and on) and eventually dying. We purchased this battery because it was advertised as "upgraded." It worked great initially. Great power. And it even came with extra screws and a little screwdriver to make the easy battery installation even more convenient. However, the window to return this battery was Feb. 25 and Mar. 5, it just died. Kaput. Nothing. I checked the charger, I checked the cord. I just bought another generic battery from another company to see if it was indeed the battery or maybe the charger or the vacuum itself. The new battery is working great and charges. So, I'm bummed to say that this battery didn't last long--just long enough that I can't exchange or return it through Amazon. :(

Got this first on November 18, 2002, it refused to charge on June 28, 2023. Contacted the seller, they have shipped a replacement; no hassle they just asked for the battery's "batch" number (printed in a very small light gray font on its bottom panel.

After three months still working better than original battery

I held off writing a review on this battery because I half expected it to fail or start losing a charge soon after I bought it. I've had it for several months now and can report that it still holds a charge better than the original and I can vacuum about 1/3 longer before it dies. I have dogs, so mostly use the max setting on carpet and the low setting on the hardwood and tile. I have been following the instruction that came with the battery not to plug it in to recharge right after use when it is warm. I never did that with the original battery and don't know if that would have prolonged its life if I had. It does make it a little inconvenient, because you have to remember to plug it in later.

Update 6/11/2022: The vacuum just stopped working. I assume the battery has died as I’ve checked everything else. So that gives this battery two years of life. Still debating if I should get another battery or another vacuum.
