Only Double for Large Toddler!!!

Only Double for Large Toddler!!!
I read hundreds of reviews and watched countless YouTube videos about double strollers. My toddler (just turned 2) is very large for his age and is 37" tall and almost 35 pounds. He's going to need a fully functional stroller for at least another year, because we like to take him tons of places (Disney, zoos, etc.) The obvious problem is that he's already at the max for a lot of strollers. We decided to try out the city select lux and this one. The lux was just too small for him already. The seat on that one is about 18" tall and 12" wide and both are that size. His head was at least an inche above the seat back already. He didn't mind and found it comfy but he would quickly outgrow it. Also, the footrest area was already too short for his legs. I could position that one only with him facing toward me on the bottom and the carseat on top. It wasn't a problem for him, but that was the only option with the Chicco keyfit attached. With both seats attached, he didn't have any leg room if I put him at the top and his legs were against the bottom seat. For over $800, this stroller was not practical. If you have smaller kids though, it was a nice stroller. The Vista is perfect. He has 2-3 inches of headroom and legroom left in the toddler seat (You can see where his feet hit in my first pic but note that the canopy is on the low position so it's closer to his head than normal. It moves up 3 inches to give more headspace!) He also fits in the rumble seat (see my 3rd pic). The back of the toddler seat is about 21" and rumble is about 18". The Vista rumble seat and Lux seats are all about the same size. The best part is that I have many choices of positions between the seats and attachments. The keyfit 30 can be placed on top or bottom with my toddler also in there. You can see in the first pic that there's even room to recline him several notches when he's on top! When he's on bottom, the rumble will still face in either direction!!! And I can recline it one notch facing out! Facing in, it can be reclined all the way. (The last picture with the diaper bag shows how the rumble foot rest fits in the basket. My son loves this! And even with his feet in there, there's still plenty of room for the bag and more!) Side note: the bassinet only fits in the bottom with toddler facing me, but that's fine! I thought I would be uncomfortable with the baby on the bottom, but as you can see the bottom position is not lower down than most regular strollers! (I have upper and lower adaptors on.) I actually like the carseat on bottom! The new baby will be very protected in there and it will be harder for random people to touch her. (Another note: I tried all of this with a life size newborn doll because my daughter isn't born yet lol) The stroller is very nice. Even with my toddler in the front, it pushes like a dream! I can push it with one finger with him in the front and the carseat up top! The bassinet is really nice too. I plan to use it mostly around the house, but for longer day trips it'll be nice to have for diaper changes and to give her stretching room. It's super easy to change seats and attachments. I don't find it too heavy (even while pregnant). The only thing I wasn't expecting is the rumble seat has it's own adaptors and the carseat holder and bassinet use the lower adaptors. You'd have to change to switch between these things (but it takes only a minute or so!) The toddler seat holds 50 pounds, the rumble 35 pounds, bassinet 20 pounds, and basket 30 pounds! And I almost forgot, yes, you can face both seats out comfortably!

5.0 out of 5 stars Worth the investment!!!
Reviewed in the United States on March 14, 2020
I looked at this uppababy Vista (2018) for a very long time. I was put off by the price, but decided to test it out in a local store, and fell in love! I knew for my first baby I wanted to register for a double stroller, I didn't want to be bothered with multiple purchases in a few short years time. We used the bassinet as a Pack n Play at families houses, eliminating the need to buy a pack n play ($150 savings). Folds and locks extremely well! Glides in the stores and outside very nicely. I've done grocery shopping with just the storage basket under the stroller. Babies carrier (additional $300) snaps right in and needs no extra attachments (if your using it as a single, photo shown with upper attachment for double option). Overall extremely sturdy and well made. Registering on Amazon, we were able to utilize the registry completion discount. This savings was almost $100, lowing the price tag, along with our Baby shower gift cards, it made the purchase far more reasonable. This is the Cadillac of strollers, you won't be disappointed if this is a Splurge item.

My 2 cons are, I do wish it had a hand hold to carry it when it's folded, I've pinched my fingers a few times. Secondly, for this price point it should come with a caddy, at the very least a cup holder, all items (caddy, cups holder, and toddler tray and 3rd toddler skateboard platform) are to be baught separately and can add another $100 to $200. I'm not certain if the new 2020 model has addressed any of these issues.

A purchase I don't regret!
