The downfall in these cutters that I see for gunpla building is that they are quite thick, so you'll find with some pieces that the blades are pressed right up against the edge because it can't squeeze between the larger runner and piece you're trying to cut. The problem with this is because these cutters do strain the plastic some, you get whitening in the plastic that isn't appealing, and if you cut too close there's little you can do to clean it up. At least if you're able to cut further from the piece you can clean it up with an exacto blade.
These are great if you are on a tight budget and want to build your gunpla significantly faster and with less strain than cutting with a knife of some sort. Honestly though if you already know you're going to be really into building gunpla or similar models, and can afford the extra $15 give or take, then save yourself the hassle and buy the Tamiya cutters which should give a cleaner cut, and fit easier between the parts and runners. If you can afford even more consider the god hands, but I know a lot of people would rather not spend that much and save some for more models.
I also own the Xuron maxi-shear flush cutter that I use for actual wire cutting. It's great for that. This one probably works fine for smaller wires, but I really like it as a kitty claw cutter.
Biggest issue is that they will not cut hardened wire or cable without some damage. So steel cable or ground sheath is a no-go. Just be aware of that when you purchase these. Otherwise, I use them all the time for everything. Get something different for the hard steel stuff.
