Product Description

Product Description

There are few blades more useful than the Milwaukee 48-22-0304 for slicing through drywall for renovation projects. Everything about this knife adds utility to your workday, from the handle to the tip of the blade. Being a jab saw, it’s no surprise that you will be able to dig into your work surface with ease. What’s unique about this particular knife, however, are the rasping holes on the side. They let you expand the holes you’re digging. You can also use them for masonry jobs, smoothing out harder surfaces like rock and metal. Going down to the handle, there are a couple features loaded into it that give you improved control. The rubber molding lets you keep a grip in slippery conditions while the flattened pommel lets you drive it deep into your work surfaces through light impacts with your hand or hammer. Whether you’re working in a residential or industrial job site, you will find this jab saw from Milwaukee a necessary addition to your tool collection.

From the Manufacturer

The Milwaukee Rasping Jab Saw is the only jab saw on the market to integrate rasping holes along the side of the blade to rapidly expand holes or smooth rough edges of sheetrock after a cut has been made. Complete with rubber over mold to increase comfort and reduce hand slippage, the new saw also features a thick 6-Inch plaster/drywall blade for increased durability and life.

I ordered this milwaukee drywall saw over another saw available on amazon that was a few dollars cheaper. The few extra dollars are well worth it. The blades are insanely sharp, they cut through drywall like butter. Making holes with the end of the saw is also a breeze and makes it very easy to make consistent and uniform holes for drywall anchors. You can also tell this drywall saw is a quality product. It has a nice weight-in-the-hand and it very comfortable for all day use.

I actually bought this as an "adult" pumpkin carver, and BOY was it a game changer!!! Works so well for this pumpkin carving that I tried it on other winter squash, and won't ever go back to a kitchen knife for this again. Soft grip handle is comfortable to use, and sharp tip helps get precise cuts going. If it works this well for hard squash rinds, I'm sure it performs as well on actual drywall.

It's cheap and efficient. Chops through drywall like butter. With the little side cutters on the blade you can eve do pretty good radius cuts without shredding the face. Comfortable handle design. Personally, I think the blade length is a bit long. The purpose is so that you can get a good saw action going, but I found you can rarely take advantage of the full length of the blade and it becomes a liability in that you stick thing you didn't intend to (like electical wire sheathing, or speaker wire.) Perhaps I'm just clumsy, but the perfect tool would take that into account. Is there a better jab saw out there? Maybe. Is this the best for the money? Probably. Let's face it, if you do dry wall for a living, you're not reading this review. If you need the tool to do just a few easy jobs like I did, then you're going to be pleased with this tool.

Bought this for the installation of a power bridge system to mount my TV and hide the cables, and it did the job well. The sharp tip made it easy to insert through the drywall exactly on my line, and it held a straight line while slicing through the drywall easily. I even ran up against a stud for two strokes, and it sliced right into it too. Ironically, you need a drywall saw (or scissors, or utility knife) just to open the packaging, but I guess with a sharp object like that I can't complain. Would buy again.

This is a the best drywall saw Ive ever used. Period. In 1 day I cut 16 hi-hat holes in 1/2 and 3/4 sheet rock like butter, and another 10 hi hat holes in 100 year old concrete plaster. Even after all that its super sharp and all the teeth are intact. Went on to finish some outlets and make a few more. Seriously if you were thinking of this versus the $10 dollar won, its worth the extra $5 dollars.

I have only used this for one project, cutting two holes in drywall to install a PowerBridge cable management system but it worked extremely well and made it a piece of cake without making a huge mess. The jab point made starting the holes easy and the blade was sharp enough to complete the cuts without any of the backing paper on the wall ripping or having a ton of the gypsum crumbling out all over the place. The blade is fairly strong and doesn't easily flex. Overall feels like something that should last and would buy it again.
