The various videos do a pretty good job of showing how to use the different pieces of this set, although I would like to see some videos on how to set up a snare using this set.
Overall, I am happy with the product and I plan on carrying this Survival Card with me any time I hike.
I purchased one of those dollar store aluminum wallets to put all of my credit card-sized survival tools in. It is just the right size to accommodate nearly any of these helpful tools.
First is that it is too thin. Unlike some notes say on the product page, it is not thicker than a credit card, it is thinner. Not a big deal for the tiny needle and little fish hooks but it would be a serious problem if you're trying to cut something without having the saw blade bend, or use the arrowheads without them bending on impact.
The next flaw is the size of the holes. The general idea is that you can use 550 cord with this. You cannot. The large holes are too small to get 550 cord through. The small holes are too small to get the inner strands of 550 cord through.
If you're going to toss it in a survival kit, make sure to include some fishing line or thread small enough to fit the holes. A small roll of waxed dental floss would be ideal.
True, like one reviewer said, if you ever really need this thing, you're probably already dead, but that's also silly. I mean, the whole premise of this thing is silly. It's kinda like soccer dads that buy Landrover Defenders. But, a Defender goes for about $90k used now, and this thing is only $10 or so. It's ok to be silly in that price range. Besides, it has made for a fun conversation piece multiple times.
I had mine for about 6 months before a TSA agent finally took it (3 before that allowed it through). Really want to buy another one, but am bummed to see this particular card is no longer available. Bring it back, please???
