Recovering Beauty: An Opposites Attract Romance (The Kane Brothers Book 2) Kindle Edition
When Carter slams into my life, he shatters it. Even more surprising is when he shows up at my hospital room, an apology on his lips and regret in his eyes. He's the last person I expect to see, and definitely not the man I should fall for.
With seafoam green eyes and a devilish smirk, Carter's charming and playful in a way that the men in my world aren't. Being with him invigorates my spirit and replaces my brokenness with confidence.
I make a mistake in trusting him. Because Carter is hiding a secret. A dark, dangerous, threatening secret that flips my world upside down for a second time.
This time, I won't let him be my savior. This time, I'll save myself.

The way I gasped when Carter and Taylor first saw each other. It was definitely memorable. Even if it wasn't the best circumstance. Then to see how Carter reacted, how concerned he was, and how he made it his mission to apologize, it was all just so good.
Taylor had every right to be mad at Carter, Gunner, and Barrington. Her pain, frustration, and anger were perfectly understandable. After all it was her life that was being affected.
I really enjoyed the way that Carter slowly worked to build a friendship with Taylor. Then there were the sparks that flew between them. You wouldn't think that these two opposites pair so well together, yet they do. Carter was a safe place for Taylor to be herself, speak about her passions, and voice concerns. The same could be said about Taylor being there for Carter. He finally found someone that he could open up to about many things in his life.
When the club came calling though I was worried. When things heated up there I was nervous about the future of Taylor and Carter's relationship. I shouldn't have been, because once again Carter stepped up to take care of those he holds dear. While it wasn't ideal, he did it out of necessity.
The one thing I wished had been shared in the book was the moment when Joe found out about Carter's "assistance" with the club, and how that affected his family.
Cannot wait for Denver's story to see how that all plays out. Thankfully I have that book, as well as Daisy's, on hand to read next. I'm loving the Kane family.
