Product Description
Designed from scratch to be reused and laundered over and over again without excessive shrinkage or "Curling" or "Accordion" effect. Low lint and medium weight quick drying on low to medium heat in the dryer. These towels are NOT SUPER THICK but they are SUPER ABSORBENT and LOW LINT. These "Commercial" grade Blue Huck towels are new and 100% cotton. They are called "Commercial" grade because these towels are for cleaning purposes only and NOT FOR MEDICAL PURPOSES. They come in a box of 50 towels per box. These are absorbent, durable and hemmed on all four sides. Ideal for heavy duty low lint cleaning jobs. Great for car washes, janitorial & window/household cleaning etc. Ideal for windshields, windows, chrome detailing , rear view and side view mirrors. However, like any thing made of 100% cotton, some shrinkage is normal and low lint to be expected first few washes.

But guess what? They are perfect as cloth napkins that compliment my placemats! That being said ..it speaks volumes about the quality!!!
I ordered these two different times, about a month apart. The first order, was perfect. They washed well (yes, you will get a lot of dryer lint the first time, and that's normal) in hot water with minimal shrinkage. They "softened up" (I don't use fabric softener.) with washing and are wonderful to use for cleaning. They were absorbent and rough enough to scrub but not too rough on the hands or rough enough to scratch say softer wood furniture. The quality of the first order was excellent. It was so good, I wanted more. They were the same quality as the ones from the hospital.
The second order, was not so good. The first order, they were all first quality. The second order, they were not. It was impossible to believe it was the same listing from the same seller. One had a hole in it, 2 were stained (I don't think they were used/reclaimed, though.) Even before washing them, the weave was much looser, there were rows of stitches that were loose (you could see through) and some odd thick seams oddly placed in many of them in the middle. Some edge raveling as well. After washing them I was shocked because they were wrinkled and "accordioned" up like a child's folded paper fan. And there was a LOT of shrinkage. However, even with the "accordian" folds they still clean well, surprisingly.
I think the mixed reviews are because some orders had excellent towels, others more like my second order.
For cleaning with them...I like to use Lavender scented Odoban, available here, Sam's Club & Home Depot-it's hard to find otherwise & it's a concentrate I mix and use in my own spray bottle).
I was using microfiber (a popular brand I bought here) and I'll keep those for soft wood furniture (cherry wood, which scratches easily). I disliked the microfiber because cleaning dirt and debris stuck to them like velcro and had to be picked off by hand. I love how much better these "huck towels" are.
I have bought Huck towels in past and have some from hospital where I work that have never frayed after hundreds of washes and do not produce lint. Washed 2 times and 42 out 50 had fraying mostly in center but some along edges. Plus got an absolutely Humungous Pile of Lint from both the washer and the dryer. Washed the remaining unfrayed 18 towels a third time and one more came apart at the edge - I am talking completely came apart - not loose stitched but long strands of cotton thread like a fringe. So I am left with 17 and I will see what happens. There is less lint in dryer after the third wash but the towels are still covered with lint balls. They are not exactly accordian folded but not a smooth flat finish after washing - look sort of crumpled. And like I said still covered with lint balls.
