Wrong Bed, Right Girl (Accidental Love Book 2) Kindle Edition

4.2 4.2 out of 5 stars 135 ratings

Falling head-first into the wrong woman’s bed was not how Reed Bishop’s night was supposed to go. Now a gorgeous, half-naked ballet dancer was threatening his manhood…with a book. He can’t blame her.
It wasn’t how it seemed—he was just doing his job, tracking down his lead informant, who, unfortunately, took off, leaving him to figure out what to do with her friend. Staying in her apartment was no longer safe.
And
that’s how he got himself into this mess.

Now she’s sleeping in his bed while he tosses and turns on the couch.
There are pink tights in his bathroom.
Pointe shoes next to his boots.
He swears he won’t touch her like that…but he can’t ignore his fantasies.

As a tattooed, muscled DEA Agent, Reed’s seen some things. Drug dealers, murderers…He can’t let Talia get close. Even though she’s made it clear they’re both fighting the same hunger. And he definitely can’t use his handcuffs on her…no matter how much she begs.

Rebecca Brooks lives in New York City in an apartment filled with books. She received a PhD in English but decided it was more fun to write books than write about them. She has backpacked alone through India and Brazil, traveled by cargo boat down the Amazon River, climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro, explored ice caves in Peru, trekked to the source of the Ganges, and sunbathed in Burma, but she always likes coming home to a cold beer and her hot husband in the Bronx.

He was just doing his job, tracking down his lead informant and suddenly Reed Bishop is falling head-first into the wrong woman’s bed. Because it is no longer safe, he can’t let Talia stay in her apartment so now she is sleeping in his bed, there are pink tights in his bathroom, pointe shoes next to his boots and he’s having fantasies that refuses to give into. This romance is very entertaining and so full of sizzling chemistry that readers can feel the heat as it burns up the pages. The characters are strong, captivating and easily draw readers into their story which is quite an amusing blend of passion, cheek and denial. Reed is determined to keep Talia at arm’s length and Talia is just as determined that her career should come first, especially both of them have some emotional issues left over from past relationships. This keeps this relationship on a bit of a rollercoaster ride and readers experience a whole range of emotions along the way including a quite a bit of chuckles. The story has a bit of suspense going on Reed tries to unravel his case but it kind of takes a back seat to the romance of the story but is this is no way damages this story because it does play it’s part in it as with a surprising twist Talia takes a dangerous leap. The plot is fast paced and has a cute, witty dialogue that really makes the story and the relationship pop with a certain flair and readers can’t help but enjoy this cute, charming and emotional story.

This is the first book I've read by Rebecca Brooks and I just purchased the first in the Accidental Love series, Wrong Bed, Right Roommate. I only wish the series would continue.

The book has everything I love in a story; humor, steam, sexy characters, suspense and a sweet woman that refuses to back down from a big bad tough DEA agent that pretends he isn't as attracted to her as she is to him. I admire Talia for her tenacity and dedication to her starring role in Giselle, but also her desire to lure Reed into her arms. Reed fights his desire for Talia as long as possible but melts like butter in her hands. He may be a tough guy to the rest of the world but to Talia he's a big gruff teddy bear. This is a delightful story that is a quick read and a fun love story!

Thank you to Netgalley and Entangled Publishing for introducing me to Rebecca Brooks.

Excellent plot about the girl that says what she thinks with out a filter. Who meets a oldest brother from a cop family, who tried to keep his family life separated from his job! Mrs. Brooks needs to get more input about what the difference is between the Federal DEA & a major city's anti-drug division. She inter mixed the 2, so that much that it was confusing. Otherwise really good story.

This was SUCH an incredible read! I loved Wrong Bed, Right Roommate, so I knew I'd like this book, but I had no idea just how much I would fall in love with the characters and the premise!

Talia and Reed couldn't be more different. She's a prima ballerina and he's a tough, no-nonense detective. But when one of Talia's fellow ballerinas disappears after getting involved in a drug bust operation--which Reed is in charge of--they're thrust together whether they like it or not. Now Reed and Talia are stuck in his apartment because she wouldn't be safe staying anywhere else, not until he gets a better handle on his investigation.

But even though the situation is stressful, they can't help but enjoy each other's company. Soon bickering turns to bantering, and they can't help but notice the attraction building between each other. I mean, Reed is tall, ripped and tatted up with a shaved head. Swoon! And Talia is a stunning and graceful dancer. These two are bound to fall for each other, even thought they know they shouldn't.

What follows are some crazy steamy scenes. OMG, Rebecca Brooks does SUCH an incredible job writing sexy and heartfelt sex scenes. And the best part is that there are plenty of them in the book! But she also takes you on an emotional rollercoaster as these two navigate their emotions while having it out in the bedroom. They've both been hurt by previous relationships, so they hesitate to take the emotional plunge with each other. I loved how emotional their arguments and conversations were...I was seriously in tears at the rawness of their feelings! And the end! I won't spoil anything, but it's a HEA and so, so sweet :) Contemporary romance lovers need to read this book ASAP!

I loved this so much. Ballet, hot cops, drug busts gone wrong...lovely. After getting to know Talia in the first book it was nice to see her get her happily ever after. I’m really hoping to see more of the friends that are in the background, Amanda and Luke, and what’s going on with Rose. So many questions! Give me more!

I loved the first book in this series, and was so excited to read this one. Unfortunately, it wasn’t what I was expecting.

Talia was in the last book – she’s the heroine’s roommate and BFF and the hero’s sister. At the start of this book, she’s just sublet the apartment of a ballerina friend who’s had to leave suddenly due to a family emergency. Only, it turns out it’s not a family emergency but rather that she’s on the run due to a drug lord… and the cop who was working with her decides to check on her late at night in her apartment. After the inevitable meet-disaster, Reed insists that she can’t stay in the apartment, and of course the only option is that she comes stay with him. And this is where everything gets weird and suddenly we’re in the middle of a romantic suspense novel.

While I don’t read a ton of romantic suspense, I do have certain expectations for it, and the whole plot required a lot of suspension of disbelief. I can’t believe Reed, who’s basically married to his job and deadset on making lieutenant, would compromise his ethics so much by getting involved with someone who may be tied to his big investigation. I really can’t believe that Talia would just randomly go home with a cop who basically broke into her apartment (he had a key, but still…) and then proceed to live there for weeks. I really didn’t like this component of the book, and since it’s a rather large part of it, this really affected my enjoyment of it.

I did like the relationship between Talia and Reed, though it felt more like insta-lust to begin with. Reed’s a pretty grumpy hero and Talia’s pretty positive, so there’s a nice bit of opposites-attract going on. Grumpy characters meeting their match are a favorite trope of mine, and there’s a lot of teasing from Talia about how Reed is really a softie at heart. While they seem initially quite different, they’re both focused on their careers (Reed making lieutenant and Talia on landing the starring role in an important production), and also have both been burned by previous relationships, which does cause some seesawing back and forth. Once they gave in to the attraction between them, things get very steamy – Reed puts his handcuffs to good use – but neither can let go of their past relationship issues. I enjoyed their banter, but it did feel like it was very predictable – like, since Talia had been burned before by putting a relationship over her career, the same thing would happen again with Reed.

Overall, while I liked Reed and Talia’s relationship, I found pretty much everything around the whole drug dealer plot ridiculous. I’m not sure which of Talia’s friend group is up next in the series, but I will still probably pick up the next book in the hope it’s more similar to the first.

I received this book for free from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

It was fun watching I'm-done-with-love Reed fall in love with My-career-is-all-that-matters Talia. The back and forth between them, the feelings of this can't happen, then oh my I guess it did had me smiling. It took a lot to get over themselves but was so worth it in the end. A great epilogue was the finishing touch to a wonderful story.
