Customers like the fluidity of the mount bracket. They mention that the rotation movement is smooth and fluid damped. The ball-head moves smoothly and the securers well without needing to over-tighten them. The mechanisms move smoothly and nothing feels loose or like it would break easily. The panning motion is super smooth and doesn't abruptly stop. The panning base seems fluid enough where I would actually trust it for some minor applications.

So far i like it. I had to modify a cheap bargain ...

So far i like it. I had to modify a cheap bargain ...
So far i like it. I had to modify a cheap bargain basement tripod that lasted me more than 25 years, to make it fit. A little threaded rod some drilling and super glue and good as new. Still cheaper to replace this head than to buy a comparable replacement tripod. I like the quick release, but the swival ball will take a little getting use to, i think i'll adapt quickly. This will definately fit a quality nonbroken (like mine!) tripod with standard 3/8" thread, and a 1/4" adapter is included but an extremely tiny item. I have a nikon D90 with a 105mm wide angle lens usually attached but do change up occassionaly. I mention this only as a weight comparrison. Im no engineer but i think the weight distribution also passes into the tripod as well, so the head doesnt bear the entire weight but everything is always only as strong as the linkest link. Ive noticed other reviews mentioning technical aspects like baseplates and nonstandard doohickies that i cannot speak to being very much an amateur. I have one camera with one tripod and now with one ball base that has one quick release base plate that whether or not it's standard or non standard fits my one need. Im slightly disappointed that it came from china, i try to buy american when possible but dont lose sleep over it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome Ball Mounts, Great Price !
Reviewed in the United States on August 3, 2018
Solid. Strong. No problems. Mounted Sony HDR-FX1 high definition broadcast cameras on these. One is mounted on an Interfit INT-309 boom arm, and the other two are on "L" shelf brackets, drilled out to accommodate larger diameter holes needed, then to the wall. I love the details on these. Also the two tone color looks cool to me. The numbered and notched guides are great for recording your set up for when you change a setup, then return. I can loosen and adjust the camera position easily on one axis without totally messing up all of them, and incrementally too. The bubble level looks cool, and is actually functional, although I haven't needed it yet. The quick release doesn't have a safety, but just pay attention, be careful. You will need to buy a small mounting bolt and some washers if it is mounted like I did, so just be sure not to go too deep, just look inside, only go as deep as the visible first set of threads, not deeper. Sorry I don't remember the bolt dimensions. Use one or more washers to take up any slack to keep from going too deep into inside past the heads threads.
