This has kept my drinks cold with ice for over 6 hours. The ice does melt but there is still ice left over. I like the easy of cleaning and slim design look. I’ve washed in the washer multiple times and the color hasn’t come off yet.

Pretty good, "Mussel" color not as expected
This is my second Contigo purchase -- the first was a pair of the kiddie-sized 14oz plastic Autoseal water bottles. We loved those, but the button mechanism on the bf's started to get wonky, so I selected this one as an "upgrade" -- it's 2oz larger so still a manageable size, and with a vacuum seal so it keeps water cold. (FYI, these Autoseal style bottles are PERFECT to keep on your bedside table. Easy enough to drink from in the middle of the night, but impossible to spill if you accidentally knock it over. Which sadly I have done so, soooooo many times.)Picked the "Mussel" color because in the photo it looked like a cool matte charcoal grey, like a powder-coat finish? It's not. It's metallic. Basically a plain brushed steel that's slightly darkened to a "gunmetal" hue. It's fine, I guess, just not what I was hoping for (and it's much more fingerprint-y than a powdercoat matte finish would be).It def keeps water cold for many hours, and I like how the lid twists off quickly rather than requiring multiple full rotations to unscrew. The lid design is indeed simpler and easier to clean on this model, too.Contigo could make the PERFECT water bottle by giving this a durable matte powder coat, making the opening slightly larger, and making the cap portion a bit taller so that the button could also be bigger. I don't want all that "gym-bag-friendly carry-loop" crap and the obnoxious "athletic shoe color palettes" like many of their designated Autoseal water bottles have, and I don't want a gigantic heavy high-capacity bottle (16oz is plenty when you can easily refill it throughout the day). Just a simple, sleek container in an understated color with an easy button and reliable seal.

I have an extensive collection of water bottles and travel coffee mugs and I feel this one is probably going to be my go to for a long time. I've had several accidents with my drinks during my commutes before. I've had mugs that were advertised as leakproof but ruined the interior of my handbags. I've had ceramic/glass mugs slip and shatter on the pavement before. I've had mugs with a snap seal lid that were so stiff I've cut my skin before. I've had bottles with screw off lids that slipped and rolled away and got lost underneath the seats of a lecture hall before.
If I had one complaint, I feel like the autoseal button may be difficult for people with weak grips. I had a 24oz auto seal water bottle and with the weight of the bottle when fully filled and the resistance of the autoseal button, it was uncomfortable to use and I ended up giving that bottle away.

The design is very beautiful. The top of the mug is narrow and comfortable in the hand. Out of all the autoseal contigo mugs, this would have to be my favorite. The autoseal button is horizontal instead of vertical and feels comfortable when pressing to take a sip.
