Delica 4 Lightweight

RELIABLE HIGH PERFORMANCE

If you already own a Delica or Endura, you have one of the knives Spyderco makes. The knife you have just acquired is a bit different from the normal C10 Endura 4 and C11 Delica 4 Lightweights. They are now available in a range of new handle colors with full-flat ground blades. Their FRN (fiberglass reinforced nylon) handles come in new vibrant tones including blue, green, brown, gray, and purple. Molded onto the handle's surface is Bi-Directional Texturing for slip-free tactile traction. Inside the handle are dual skeletonized stainless steel liners which strengthen the knife without additional weight and double as an anchor for external and internal components to attach through generating more sturdiness and rigidity.

The blades are full flat-ground VG-10 with a thinner highly refined cutting edge and a larger 13mm opening hole. Added to the blade's spine is slip resistant jimping. Phosphor bronze washers smooth out the open/close action and the clip is upgraded to a four-way tip-up, tip-down, left-or right-handed clip.

Great knife

Great knife
I already have a bunch of spydercos but, never got a delica. Well, it's definitely one of my favorites now. Really solid feeling and great, smoth action. Excellent fit and finish. I love the green. I'll probably order the k390 one eventually and do a blade swap with these green scales. I wish spyderco made more of thier FRN knives in this green. This really is a great knife. A little pricey, but then it is a quality product. It was $20 bucks off when I ordered it, so look out for that if you want a better deal. It's imported from Japan through Amazon, so it took about 9 or 10 days, which was actually several days sooner than the initial date Amazon gave. It worth the wait anyway.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great All Around EDC Knife.
Reviewed in the United States on April 17, 2023
Can’t say much that has not already been said about the Delica. It’s thin, sharp, comfortable to carry and use, and immensely practical. It’s a big version of their small ladybug type designs.

I’m comparing it to the Native, who’s design I slightly prefer. What I like about the Delica it that it’s thinner in pocket and cuts / slices better. It’s thin blade is better for normal tasks and food prep if you’d use it for that.

I like the lower finger grip on the Native. I like it’s massively thick blade. More of and indestructible tool. I got the Delica after the Native as I’d always wanted to try one. It feels great in hand. It’s heavier than you’d think with the metal plates inside the handle. It’s very solid. Not as strong as the Native. That is what makes it cut so well. Longer overall and longer (more useful) blade. 2 directional FRN handles are very secure.

Maybe I need a FRN Native. It’s why we usually have more than one.

Great knife. Everyone should own a few.

Maybe Spyderco got screwed by their Byrd manufacturer from China BUT they send me a completely differnet knife. They sent me a Byrd Meadowlark2

HOWEVER the box in which it came said "Made in Japan" even though the knife inside says "China" on it. See pictures!

Somebody scammed either amazon, or Spyderco, or me.
