Totally smooth so there was never a worry about marking or tearing the wall paper. Did it’s job and smoothed the paper to the wall completely, using my hand and this smoothing device, I felt assured that the paper was securely ‘stuck’ to the wall. I cannot imagine hanging peel and stick wall paper with out it !

I’m a little disappointed with this product. I used it and it hardly took out any bubbles on a counter cover. I bought this to help with air bubbles and it failed terribly at it. It leaves behind a lot of air bubbles regardless of how much the paper is placed correctly. Not a fan but it seems durable and shipping was fast.
