Bought the book based on the blurb alone, because there is nothing funnier than a man's dangly bits, especially if they are upside down. Final review to follow.

Post purchase review - angsty disappointment.
First the blurb is deceptive. It implies they are part time lovers who have a marriage of convenience. Like many marriage of convenience plot lines, the reasons pretty weak but anyone who has read more than 3 novels of this type knows that going into it.

The heroine is annoyoying. She's constantly reminiscing about moments in her life that seem better than now and comes across as a much older person, more like a bitter 50 year old divorcee than a hot shot ad exec. The pacing of the book is also vey slow, the Part time Lover doesn't even get a kiss until about 28% of the book.

Overall, I'm disappointed. I was expecting a fun romp, after all it did start with a large naked Danish exhibitionist on a boat dock but it seems as though the blurb and the first chapter were written by a different person to the rest of the book.

As a reader... I wanted the first author back.

This is a sweet and lovely romantic story along the same lines as Wanderlust. If you read that book, you will then know that Christian and his little mermaid, Elise were good friends of the main characters, and now get to tell their own tale.

They first meet in the oddest of ways and it is not until fate brings them back together again a year later. Circumstances beyond their control has them being bind together for 3 months with each trying not to weaken and break down the emotional walls they had build from heartbreak with previous relationships. Christian is a Danish/Englishman with a delectable accent that likes to surprise the tourist around Denmark. Elise, an American/French woman was delighted and a little shocked when she sets her eyes on Christian. Both of them have qualities that I loved in a character. They have strong family values, they are very loyal and of course, they have a great sense of humor.

I am a big fan of this authors work, I adore her rom-coms immensely and I am enjoying these contemporary romance novels too. I recommend you give them a go.

Flirty and sexy. Great audio book

I listened to the audio of Part-Time Lover and thoroughly enjoyed it.

If you have read Wanderlust, you have already met our protaganists Elyse and Christian - I had forgotten our first sighting of Christian until I was listening, and it made me laugh all over again.

I adored this kinda-second-chance-friend-to-fake-lovers-to-more story.

Christian is some kind of man. I mean, he is a man's man and very confident in himself (as you will see when you meet him). Sexy. Studly. Adorable. Flirty. But he is so much more than that too.

The narrators really brought the characters to life. I have not listened to a Shane East narration before, however I will make sure to do so in the future.

Fun, flirty and sexy, I was swept away with this story.

Can't wait to see what Ms Blakely brings us next.

Better put you fans on and have a tall glass of something with a lot of ice in it because the heat between Faye and Christian will heat up even the coldest Canadian winter storm. The way these two tease and build up the anticipation...well let's just say I was glad I started reading on a Friday and didn't have to get up for work the next day, or the next, I think you get my point! No spoilers here but OMG you will love the way Lauren writes and weaves you into the story so you feel like your right there watching it happen. Having met Christian & Elise in Wanderlust, I fell in love with them, and was delighted when I knew they were getting their own story. This is a complete standalone, and although if you haven't read Wanderlust, do.. it is just beautiful and romantic and sexy too!

The boat tour in Copenhagen is the first 'meeting', and I love a boat tour, a cheeky captain and a gorgeous view. Who doesn't?

Luckily, missed opportunities are no match for fate and chance and this duo were destined to meet again, this time in Paris courtesy of Griffin & Joy. And Joy delivers. Humour, banter, flirting and charm by the bucket load. They have had their pasts, so there are moments, but having just listened to this on audible, I can certainly say, that the tears I cried were of laughter and not sadness.

Christian is at the top of my Blakely boy list!
