Edit: Anker reached out to me to fix the situation and sent out a replacement cable. After thorough testing the cable works great and all of the things I would have loved to say about it below are now possible to say. I don't feel that I need to change anything else about the review.
Anker Powerline+ C to C 2.0 cable (3ft), High Durability, for USB Type-C Devices Including the new MacBook, ChromeBook Pixel, Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, Nokia N1 Tablet, OnePlus 2 and More
I would love to tell you that this Anker Powerline+ C to C 2.0 cable was just what I needed because I didn't have a charger at work. I would love to tell you that this Anker Powerline+ C to C 2.0 cable was better than any other USB C cable that I have used. With it's "tough double-braided nylon" ensuring tangle proof storage and it's laser welded reinforced connectors that allowed me to plug, unplug, and twist this cable while picking up my phone from my night stand to check Instagram every 5 minutes. I would love to tell you that this Anker Powerline+ C to C 2.0 cable provided me with "unmatched charging" using Qualcomm Quick Charge to give me 6 more hours of Instagram with just 10 minutes 'at the pump' when I wanted to roll over in my bed. I cannot though.
You see, Anker supplied me with a sample unit for testing if I would write an unbiased and honest review of the Anker Powerline+ C to C 2.0 cable. The test unit did not work. I plugged it into a known working power port and I the lights never came on even though I knew someone was home. I plugged in the cable that came with my phone and the battery sprang to life charging as fast as it's little cells could handle. I emailed support multiple times to resolve the issue, but I never received a response regarding the failed product. This is not typical of Anker support so I don't know what to make of it.
Here is what I can review the product on and why I gave it three stars:
- The packaging and presentation are always simple yet elegant and this cable is no exception. It is well designed and very nice to look at.
- The cable itself is tough and durable (although I haven't tried towing my wife's car with it... yet). The braided cord really does help maintain a tangle-free mess. It has some heft to it.
- As with many of Anker's products this cable is very well made (aside from the non-functioning aspect of this one). You can tell that it's precision manufactured. This is clear when you hear and feel the cable snap into place snugly inside the port of the phone.
I cannot recommend the specific cable I received, but if/once Anker helps me clear up the non-functioning unit I am confident this review will be edited to reflect positively on the product. If you have a mobile phone like the Nexus 6P and/or laptop like the Macbook that use USB C this cable is a no-brainer.

REASON FOR BUYING: I wanted a wall adapter and cable that could charge all my usb C devices including my Dell Latitude 7480 with a minimum power requirement of ~40W. As this was the highest quality cable I could find from Anker (Anker sells a TB3 cable but it is not braided. not sure why.) I bought it for the purposes listed above. To my initial disappointment, I had someone from Anker tell me it was only rated for 20W which I later found to be incorrect.
MY EXPERIENCE: I own both the 6ft and 3ft versions of this cable and they work flawlessly to charge my laptop. This cable DOES support up to 60W of power transfer and I was able to prove this via my Omnicharge 20-C which tells me the power output (see pictures). So far everything has been good and I have no complaints
CONCLUSION: If you want a well-built cable that will charge most of your devices, buy this. An added bonus is the pouch it comes with which has a high-quality feel and magnetic clasps to keep it closed. However, if you want something a little beefier that is rated for 100W of power and at around the same price, I would recommend the USB C cables from UNI. I own the 10ft and 6ft variants and they are incredible. I have purchased Anker chargers and cables in the past, but this one far exceeds any of my other cables. To be upfront and honest, I was supplied this cable for testing, but the following review is my own opinion, in my own words. In short, this cable rocks! The quality of the build and connections are superior. I like the braided nylon around the cable itself, giving it a little more rigidity. And the color helps too. Makes it stand out vs. the normal black or white cables that most everyone else uses.
What really surprised me was the grip the USB-C connections had. I used some cables before where the slightest little tug on the cable pulls it out of the phone. The connectors that Anker uses seemed to have a little more hold when I went to unplug my devices. Personally I welcome this little extra grab on the device. It's piece of mind to me that the connection is solid and not going to easily come out.
Being an engineer, I like my cables tidy. The little travel/carrying case this cable comes with is perfect. I can have the tails of each end of cable out just enough to reach my phone, yet still keep things clean. The case even has a little magnet inside to keep it closed. Anker really thought this one out.
The cable met all of my expectations and then some. I successfully rapidly charged my Nexus 5X phone, my Pixel C table, and I was even able to charge my tablet from my phone. Another top quality product by Anker.

I always trust Anker for mobile power and accessories. And they sure did it this time.
I have a Nexus 6P which uses the new USB type C port. However, the only compatible cable I have is the one came with the phone. So I was looking for extra cable.
My impression on the product:
- Welll packed paper box
- Carrying sleeve with magnet. This is a nice surprise, you can use this one for any small cable or earbuds.
- The cable is braided. I have a regular braided micro USB from Anker since 1.5 years ago and no sign of connection issue. I expect this cable last just as long.
Performance:
I use Ampere app to measure the voltage and current while charging. And this cable support quick charge just like my original cable. There is no different in charge time.
I do not have any high power device such as laptop with USB-C to test this cable. You may want to check other reviews on this matter.
TLDR: I'm impressed with the quality and attention to detail of Anker. I've been using their products for a long time and they never fail me.
