Almost exactly the same as their normal drill
4 Stars
Almost exactly the same as their normal drill
Updated review:I'm reducing this to two stars because the drill chuck just doesn't want to stay on! the lock isn't malfunctioning, they just put the locking ring too close to the normal chuck. because they're side by side, it seems like every other time I pick this drill up, the head falls off. This is unacceptable. I was tolerant at first because I wanted to like this set but this is a huge design flaw and I would not recommend this tool because of it. You might think, what's the big deal? Well, if it falls on your foot, or if it breaks your bit or your drill bit, then you'll understand. Luckily, it hasn't in my many cases but it has come close.I've owned this for about a year and it has always been my go-to because I just wanted to like it but every time the head falls off, i like it a little less.Avoid this deluxe drill combo, don't fall for the gimmick!Original Review (4 stars): I wanted to compare their max FlexiClick with the basic one and so far, they seem to be very similar. The weight of both drills without batteries are: 1) Basic drill is 1lb 12oz. 2) Weight of the FlexiClick (with basic drill head) is 1lb 13.6oz. that 1.5 oz is very negligible! Fyi, the batteries add about 6 oz.The look and feel of the FlexiClick is the same as the basic drill; it seems that they reused the body of the drill and the only difference is the easily removable head. The attachments seem to work well and everything is easily attachable and detachable. The only downside I've noticed is that the drill head seems too easy to unlock because it's right between two things we grab during normal use, the chuck and the clutch (?) Wheel. This seems like a small issue but I'll have to use this thing more b4 i can make a conclusion about it.Overall, if you can get this on sale, then I'd recommend it. At full retail price, if you already have the regular drill, then I'd say you can skip this tool. The set does include two batteries with a charger so it seems like this is more intended for new 12v Bosch users; as far as i know, there is no bare tool version for sale. For all you new customers, keep in mind that Makita has a full line of 12v too. Makita's line actually looks very appealing to me. And, No, the batteries and tools are not easily compatible. You have to mod either the tool or batteries to fit. If you don't have any 12v set, i would suggest looking at the line up of both brands. The only reason i chose bosch was because it was the first small drill i found back in the day. Finally, if you have the 12v Dremel tools And a 3d printer, you can mod the bosch and Dremel batteries to be interchangeable.

I have been looking at this sort of item for a very long time but already owning a number of drills, I could not justify getting this. But then my son started university and he said he will have projects where a drill will be very handy. I now have my excuse to get a new 1.

It was shipped slowly. Well it took a long time to get here but I wasn't in a hurry to get it. Was somewhat excited about it. A little disappointed that it appeared to be a used return but for the price I got it for, I can live with that.

The unit itself is so sturdy feeling and very heavy for it's size. It's about the same size as the 1 I'm sending to my son but it feels as heavy as a full sized drill. The motor is so smooth, the smoothest of any of my drills. I'm really looking forward to using this.

I'm not a builder and I don't use drills on a daily basis. I just want a really good 1 for around the house things and for when I'm working on golf clubs. I have a makeshift golf shop in my garage and having a couple of drills setup with various bits that I need is incredibly convenient. I'm also intrigued by all the different changeable heads this comes with. Most of the time, I'll keep the 1/4 inch quick change head in. But having the option for other pieces is what really drew me to this. I have run into times when I needed something angled or a 90 degree turn but didn't have the right pieces to make it easy. Now I do.

Having 2 batteries is no nice. I can keep going if and when 1 dies and that's really important for me. When I'm on a roll, I want to keep it going.

I haven't put the drill through everything yet but I can tell it will be an amazing complement to all my power tools.

Desirable product. Federally licensed aircraft mechanic (A&P) here and I used my old one daily. I ordered this to replace a 6 yr old identical unit that the motor quit functioning after a scrap of metal got into it. I hope this one performs as well as my old one as I was merciless with it. I abused this thing regularly and it held up which is why I ordered another. Citation Bravo w/ 32 fuel pnl's per wing, painted and old, about 800 star screws that fought back, locked the direction and used it as a screwdriver, just one example. The driver itself is short'ish and can get into tight places, quick change "nose" is great for multiple screw types (Torq-set screw (Nazi) SUCKS!!!!!!!!, star, phillips and straight). Trigger is responsive to variable pressure and speed. Torque is excellent and faster RPM than Milwaukee. lighter than Makita. Highly recommended. Arrived next day by Amazon. Paid a little more but worth it so far.

Much quieter, very powerful, very light, very comfortable in hand! Great quality! It surprised me yesterday when I used impact drivers on “squeeeeek no more “ 2 1/4 in screw to the wood floor. Makita 18v failed, Milwaukee 12 v fuel did a little better, Bosch 18 v did similar as Milwaukee 12v. Finally, I used Bosch 12v. It worked successfully to drive the screw in. I watched many tools review videos on YouTube. Most of them showed Milwaukee is the best. Sorry for the stereotype. Bosch 12 v this tool is the best for me!

I have similar compact Bosch 1/4 inch hex driver, impact driver, multi-angle driver, and flashlight for 10’ish years and they are excellent and still running fine with the exception one uncooperative battery pack. Why buy more ? Well, none of the pieces have an adjustable chuck so I can’t use standard drill bits. I almost bought the compact drill a dozen times just to add that capability but I never did. When I saw this modular kit on sale, I had to get it ! It’s all the same solid build quality as my older 10.8 v / 12 v stuff and all the batteries are interchangeable. The offset driver head is a great attachment. As soon as you get into a tight space, you will understand why they made it that way. Highly recommended kit for most small and medium tasks.

The Bosch GSR12V-140FCB22, is such a fantastic, versatile drill! From its light weight, to the easily changeable heads, this drill will take care of mostly anything the average DIYer needs to do. I use it all the time as an electric screwdriver since it has a variable speed motor and the trigger is very easy to squeeze and control. I think I may have charged the battery once when I first got it and have used it to hang shelves, drapes, put together furniture and install smart panels, and it still has a full charge! You definitely won’t be disappointed in that area (just in case though, it does come with an extra battery). I almost forgot to mention how small it is which makes it a lot easier to handle and get into corners and for those extra hard to reach places, I just use the right angle attachment or the rotating position attachment. One thing I do wish that was included was a pivoting head or a multi-angle attachment for it for even more precision, but it’s a very small use case and the attachments it comes with, handles the job fine. Overall this is such a good buy, Bosch really outdid themselves with this tool!

My old hands are not what they use to be and I find this "system" very useful for many tasks I would normally use a screwdriver or nut-driver. The system is pretty easy to use and the flexibility amazing. For my occasional use and applications I find the battery power not an issue. Power is good, but do not expect it to provide the torque of a cordless drill. It is a very useful cordless screwdriver and more. The included storage bag is not of much use, as there is no room for various bits and drivers. I bought a Voyager 12" tool bag ($5) that gives enough room for the system and a whole variety of hex-drive drill bits, drivers and accessories. It would be nice if the handle had the option to fold inline with the body making it more like a fat screwdriver. It is a very cool system that I would recommend you consider.

5.0 out of 5 stars I am telling myself I should not waste money on my third set for no reason
Reviewed in Canada on May 23, 2018

I am a DIY enthusiastic person. I had 2 different brands of impact and hammer drills set but they are all regular size drills. When I see this drill, I am not paying too much attention to it. Then I see a set from my colleague, I start to think about why I need this. After a period of time, I am telling myself I should not waste money on my third set for no reason. However, the promotion price from amazon drew my attention again. I eventually bought it and test it. After couple small project using it, I decide to do this review.

I really like it. It is lighter and smaller than my drill sets. When u work at restricted area with limited room and ceiling or high height work, this drill definitely has an advantage over any regular drill. It is easy to hold and carry. the switchable concept is invincible. No need to carry two drills anymore and easy to switch amongs different caulks. Right angle and offset caulks are big selling points too. One small bag pretty much carry everything. I put a bits box in the bag instead of charger to make it more comprehensive with pretty much everything I need in one single bag.

The whole set is solid built and good quality. If really want me to criticize, I will say the power is not too high but good enough for most DIY project. The price (even regular price) is quite competitive considering it comes with 2 batteries and different caulks.

Highly recommend this to any persons for a new drill or second or third set. :)

Overall I am satisfied with this purchase. It seems very well built with higher capacity batteries.

There are 2 issues I did not anticipate.
1) this unit is much heavier overall than the PS20 and it is also very top heavy in comparison. Probably due to two reasons the robust flexclick mechanism and the additional features of the newer driver unit it was based on (2 speeds, more clutch settings & more powerful motor). A trade off for the additional capabilities. Not a deal breaker but just be aware of it if you are used to the older simpler units.
2) the angled flexclick mechanisms do not attach at points I would have expected them to. In other words my expectation was at 12, 3, 6, and 9 o’clock if the front end was a clock face. This unit locks at 3 positions on the “clock face” so the positions will be staggered and not at 90 degrees to one another. You can turn the locking ring before attaching and with trial and error it will lock at a desired “clock” position. In a way this creates more flexibility but conversely more fiddling. Fiddling leads to frustration if you are in a hurry.
Update: after more fiddling I found that if you hold the right angle or offset attachments at the “angle” you want and turn the lock ring counter clock wise (or towards unlocking) until the attachment engages the driver you can then turn the lock ring the other way to lock it in position. (Could this have been in the manual? Lol) because of this I will re rate it at 5 stars.

A pleasant surprise is that I was unaware that Bosch simply renamed their 10.8v batteries to 12v so the batteries are interchangeable between my drivers and chargers, so the PS20 will not be put out to pasture but will have a shiny new partner.

This is from the Bosch website confirming the battery “name” change and cross compatibility:

“All Bosch Professional 10.8V power tools, batteries and chargers will be changed to 12V.
They are fully compatible.”

I am really impressed with the service I have had with the PS20 and that the batteries are still doing well. I am hoping the same level of engineering and build went into the flexclick unit.

Update Dec 2018: another issue to be aware of is that you must be careful when rotating the clutch if your wearing gloves or have your hand too far forward you can also inadvertently turn the attachment causing it to fall off. I’ve done this several times with the small driver attachment luckily in the shop. This would really suck if you are up a ladder or on a dock.

Update 2021. It’s been about 3 yrs with this system and it is still my go to driver/drill. I will reluctantly use my Dewalt 20v tools if these do not have sufficient power to removed particular fasteners which is not very often. I would buy this system (probably the newer brushless version) again in a heartbeat. My only caveat is that if I was starting out (no previous 12V stuff) I would be hard not to go with Milwaukee (or possibly the new 12VDC Skill lineup by Ego) as they have far more tools in their M12 line than Bosch in North America. Bosch has great quality but the selection frankly sucks. Perhaps with more interest in 12V tool this will change.
I just shelled out 180cad for the 3/8” PS82 impact wrench as I wanted a compact impact wrench so perhaps there is hope for this lineup (an angled die grinder would be nice too...hello Bosch?)
Note HDepot often has great prices on some Bosch stuff so do your homework and you might get lucky (I got the original Bosch 3AH battery for less than 40cad delivered during a sale last year and they don’t even have the 12V line in the store near me). Cheers
