About Bodum
BODUM – visionary innovation for over 70 years BODUM’s history dates back to 1944, when Peter Bodum launched the company in Copenhagen, Denmark. Renowned for its iconic French Press coffeemaker and signature Scandinavian design aesthetic, BODUM has grown into a global housewares brand, with distribution in more than 55 countries. Headquartered in Switzerland, the company continues to develop all products inhouse under its core principle that good design should be both functional and affordable. The range of products extends from coffee, tea and glassware to kitchen electrics and gadgets. A family-owned company, the brand is directed today by the founder’s son, Jørgen Bodum. "Good design doesn’t have to be expensive," Peter Bodum.
How To Use
How to brew delicious coffee with the filter coffee maker pour over: First, place your pour over on a flat, heatproof, non-slip surface. Add fresh, filter ground coffee to the cone – we recommend one rounded teaspoon or one Bodum scoop for each cup/4oz water. Slowly pour hot (not boiling) water in a circular motion over the coffee grounds, until they’re evenly saturated. Then pour additional hot water up to maximum capacity. Allow water to pass through the coffee into the borosilicate glass carafe (this takes around four minutes). Remove the filter, insert the plastic lid, and pour a great cup of joe.
Made from premium quality borosilicate glass that doesn't absorb taste or aroma, the beautifully shaped carafe is fitted with a permanent stainless steel filter for truly sustainable brewing. No wasteful paper filters that trap essential oils and flavor; just pure flavorsome coffee.

There was a problem filtering reviews right now. Please try again later.
My first test run was just plain water and the filter this came with (plastic with a metal mesh). It went alright, but I found I had more luck with using a plain paper coffee filter instead of the one included with the glass. I think the mesh is just a bit too fine and I always had water left over in the filter. Lifting the filter up every so often helped, but I find paper filters work better and ended up saving me time (using a cloth filter or "coffee sock" filter might also work better than the mesh one).
My second test run was actually brewing coffee by boiling water on the stove, loading some paper filters with coffee grounds in the coffee maker and and letting gravity do the rest. It went pretty well, even if I did have to boil two pots of water to get a full pot. It's also nice knowing that the coffee maker is glass, so I'm not getting any sort of heated plastic residue in my drink. It's also silent so I don't have to give up part of my work-from-home routine on account of a noisy electric coffee maker.
Overall, this is a very old-fashioned way of making coffee, but if you're trying to get rid of the plastics in your kitchen, want something more eco-friendly, or if you're looking for something quiet and have a lot of patience - I'd say switching to a glass coffee maker is a great choice. It's also super light weight, and as long as you're gentle with it and make sure it doesn't break or fracture, it'll definitely last you a while and work for any sort of situation. To clean it out, I just but some soap and warm water in it, swirl it around and continue to rinse it out until the soap's all gone - but I'll be sure to invest in a dedicated sponge for this in the future.
But truth be told, when I was a little girl my father had a very similar coffee maker.
that he would set up first thing in the morning and after dinner.
I loved the ritual of watching him make coffee the pour over way.
When April came and I was looking for birthday gift ideas, I wanted something that I would get use out of, and that was not very expensive .
So I thought about my coffee habit. I do not drink a lot of coffee, but I love coffee .
From my keurig, French press, regular drip maker, etc. I thought this would be a good addition to my coffee family.
There is a much pricier, well-known brand, very similar in look, and style, to this one.
Until I knew what I wanted I was not willing to invest, just yet.
I chose this one because of the price, and the look, and the reviews.
Now that I have had it for a few months, I don’t see any reason to get anything else.
It’s easy to clean, for me.
One thing to keep in mind, is to rinse it immediately after you're done using it.
I like that the cork is 100% removable to make cleaning a breeze
A little bit of hot water, white vinegar, and a soft brush , and it’s as good as new.
This item comes with a measuring spoon, and a reusable filter, which I appreciated.
I tried the paper filters that came with this package -just to see if there was a difference in taste/quality, and quite honestly my guests and I did not notice a difference, to justify using only paper filters.
But then again, I am a newbie to this game,
So, I might be missing some slight nuances of flavor, or coloring, or what have you.
Overall, this pour over maker is a thorough complete package.
If you are on the fence about switching over to the “pour over life“ , looking for a pour over maker of your very own, a gift, etc., I don’t see how you could go wrong with this specific item.

I ground up some fresh beans, put them directly in the metal cone filter, and poured a little hot, not boiling water on the grounds to bloom the coffee. I waited about 15 seconds and began adding water slowly. Once I added my 2 cups of hot water I waited a minute to let as much water go through as possible and then set the filter aside.
I poured my coffee into a cup after swirling the brew. I drank it black because I wanted to really taste the coffee since I'm new to this pour over system. Outstanding flavor! Bold, but smooth. Just delicious. I was careful to drink the last sips of coffee slowly so that I wouldn't get coffee sediment in my mouth. That's important for the best experience.
I knocked it down to 4 stars in the cleaning category because it is glass and it gets slippery during cleaning. I need to take extra care.
This pour over system is amazing. The stainless filter is well machined and smooth.
The holes are small enough to hold back all but the finest coffee particles. This product is an excellent value!
