Felix:
He’s my brother’s best friend. My neighbor. My secret crush.

No amount of smiling can save my license when I get pulled over for the umpteenth time. Now I have six months without wheels.
Cue the return of the last guy I need charging back into my life. Mort, who left without a word. Mort, who was in love with my older brother.
Brilliant, charming, frustrating Mort.

Editorial Reviews

Review

"The "best friend's little brother" trope is done to perfection here. I loved that while Mort was trying to find his way back to a family he (supposedly) let down, and re-establish his relationship with his best friend, he always put Felix first, even when Felix couldn't see it.Lots of feels, tons of UST, very strong sense of family, banter and a little (but enough) steam are some of the things that made this a winner for me." - Ele at Gay Book Reviews (4/5 stars)
"The story kept me anxiously awaiting what would happen next from start to finish,
smiling for most of the ride, so I'd rate this one at around 4 stars and recommend it." - Todd at My Fiction Nook (4/5 stars)
"A heartwarming love story set in New Zealand that is
guaranteed to leave you with feel good vibes." - OnceUpon_A_BookDream (4/5 stars)

I didn’t want to like this book because Felix just wouldn’t let Mort go. After reading how in twined Mort was with the family, I’m so glad Felix didn’t give up on him and Mort made it known that he would be there for them whether or not he was with Felix. So many twists with this family, but definitely one of my favorites.

...because the previous books of the series had been fab. I'm thankful because Miss Sunday did not disappoint!

This story was veeeery complex, lots of drama and lots of feels, but the author always manages to make it not only digestible but compelling.

I didn't exactly love all the characters, but that just made them more human in my eyes, imperfect, reckless, stupid at times, but always with good intentions.

I do have a strict moral code when it comes to exes, wether it be exlovers or even excrushes, but life is more complicated that what our simple parameters try to make it.

'T was a cute story. If you liked at least a little bit the previous two, give it a go. They are totally different, but still... something they have in common. It was a nice addition to the series.

This was a very sweet book. The highlight was the tenderness these characters had for each other. I didn't love this book because it got kinda boring and monotonous. I wanted more from it. But it did have a very sweet poignant overtone that I think a lot of people would like!

Tropes:
MM Love Interests
Brother's Best Friend
Pining
Childhood Crush
Gay for Him
Second Chances
Found Family

I've never written a review on a book that I've read. But I must say I really like the way Anyta Sunday writes. Her characters make you feel the love between them, the vulnerability they feel and then she throws in some laughter too. There's certain books that I can read over and over. I now add three more books to that list.

This book got me out of a long slump. I love Anyta Sunday, and this one resonated with me. I can relate to Felix's insecurities given that Mort had a crush on Felix's (supposedly straight) older brother a few years ago, and Mort's hesitance to begin a relationship with Felix and possibly risk losing the only family he has ever known. I loved it when Felix found out how Mort proved his love (such a corny yet lovely way!). I have a feeling this book is going to become a comfort read for me.

I love this series & Felix and Mort’s story.
Sunday is great at creating those tingly moments of anticipation when two people are attracted to each other, but afraid to do or say something.

The secondary characters were also well-developed. All of Felix’s family had a chance to grow in this story.

I have really enjoyed all three books in this series for the strength of the connections between the heroes & the wonderful complications of family.

Extremely slow burn, but a good story. Family dynamics is a strong extra character within the story. Both Mort and Felix, the MCs, are completely relatable and adorable and striving for their family and each other. Totally rooting for them the whole way through. Loved Felix and his bow ties and the New Zealand landscape.

This author has such a different flow of writing that it takes a bit to get used to it, but her stories are full full of warmth and affection!

This book, omg, this book! I am a great lover of Anyta Sunday and not only did this not disappoint, it exceeded expectations. I laughed, I cried, but mostly I smiled while I revelled in the slow burning love of Mort and Felix. 11/10 will read over, and over again!

A really great read. I was unsure to start with but once I truly got into the story I was hooked. Felix and Mort were likeable characters and very easy to root for. This book was well written, well paced and easy to read. I was completely invested in the outcome of their relationship. A fabulous addition to this series.

This is the third book in the series.
The two main characters are are wonderful. I fell in love with Felix immediately. He is so sweet and Mort just makes him shine.
The growth of their relationship is amazing and the other characters just add to this book.

I love this writer but am finding them more and more difficult to read because of her style of writing. Took me ages to figure out who was who of Mort and Felix then was just skipping through all the dialogue to get to the action. Is this the way young people speak now? So confused.

Wanted to love this book, like last one beautiful cover. Felix was cute, Mort was nice but you could not tell he was a teacher.
The first omg you never knew what was going on, it really needed proofreading, it was all over the place, didn’t make sense. They both admitted they wanted one another but fought it but didn’t don’t know. Second half the story came together and it was great they were truly beautiful together and deserved to be together. The other characters were good but even they didn’t make sense at the start. It was like reading a child version then a adult took over halfway.
