I was in the market for some upper mid grade skates. A pair of Bauers or CCM skates in that range would cost probably $450 to $550. For the record, I have been playing hockey for about 25 years and have used Bauer, Micron, and Mission skates in the past.
I came across the botas 571 skates by chance. I saw a review online of an older model where the person highly endorsed the skates. I figured since they were on Prime, I can return them if I was not happy.
I measured my feet as per the instructions on the skate guru website. The skates fit very well, though I did have to put a new foot bed for my flat feet. I baked them and they say even better.
I had two playoff games left in the season when I got the skates. I brought my old pair as a backup in case there was an issue, but these felt extremely comfortable on the ice the first time out.
The only issue I had was I got a blister on the outside of my ankle final game, which was the championship game that we won... yippie! Anybody that knows about breaking in new skates understands that this is extremely common.
Overall, these are really good skates when compared to top of the line North American brands. Basically, I got a pair of thousand-dollar skates for $300. Sweet!
