I purchased the Rover for my son for kindergarten, after thinking about what to buy for that very purpose for the past year. We love it. I did have to get an insulated container and another lunch box for when I want to send hot things, but by far, I like using the Rover better.
I originally balked at the cost, but looking at other options it is in line with most equivalent stainless steel items for the amount of food it fits.
I would, and probably will when my daughter goes to kindergarten, purchase this again.
Pros
* I love the separated compartments. It keeps things from seeping into each other, and helps me to ensure I am giving my son appropriate portions.
* Attached lid. Can't get lost
* Cleans easily.
* My son loves the "treat" compartment and enjoys choosing his treat every day.
* The dippers are fantastic. I use them for ketchup or mustard, hummus (though if it's thick enough, it can be in a main compartment), cottage cheese, applesauce, etc.
Cons
* Weight. Obviously, stainless steel will weigh more than plastic. My son finds it heavy to carry very far, so I just carry it for him. This will cease to be an issue as he gets older.
* Only cold foods. Easily fixed by purchasing an additional insulated container, though that means I had to get another bag and send other containers, rather than pairing with the Rover.

Changed Our Lives
This is actually the third PlanetBox I've bought. I have two boys, 8 and 10. The older one, in particular, has struggled with eating at school. It's loud, distracting, and he doesn't tend to be into food in the first place. I got these lunch boxes at the beginning of this school year (I've been looking at them since my older one started Kindergarten). They have changed our lives. Making lunch is no longer a struggle for me and both boys really enjoy helping each morning. We're able to be creative with the food, put in what they want, and they're excited about it. There's no more plastic containers that stink or other containers with sealing areas that are molding, no matter what you do. Most importantly, my boys are eating while at school! These lunch boxes are worth every penny. My only regret is not buying them sooner. (I had to buy a third box only because one of them "disappeared" completely from the school campus. Not happy about that but was completely willing to spend the money again.)
