Out of every single candle I have ever smelled in my entire life, this is by far my favorite. It is a deep, dynamic, and warm scent. I also like how it does not smell artificial like most candles. I have purchased this candle in the glass jar before, and was excited to see this minimalist concrete pot it came in. I was hesitant when I saw the price, but it is definitely worth it. The scent fills my entire room and the pot adds a nice touch of decor. I do wish it was more slow burning though, I feel like I am going through the candle rather quickly.

The candle arrived damaged. The candle container is made of a very frail clay. Even though it was thoroughly wrapped in bubble wrap, the edges on the top and bottom were scraped, chipped, and broken. This is not some minor scratch - it arrived in extremely poor condition.

The overall appearance of the jar is not appealing. I would say it looks decent for a kindergarten project. But if it was made by adults for the commercial purposes, the "artist" should reconsider his/her approach. Perhaps use a different clay for the jar.

But it smells nice.

I LOVE the Paddywax Tobacco & Patchouli scent. I've purchased the Apothecary 8oz version several times and wanted to have a larger size that would last longer because I was sick of buying 2-3 at a time. I have to say I love the LOOK of this candle but the scent isn't as strong as I'm used to. I've bought other open face candles with this scent from them in the past and they were stronger than this, I don't know if I got an old candle or a bad batch but it definitely has the scent I love. It's just no where near as strong as the smaller Apothecary ones. And because it's an open face candle it burns faster so while I love the look of the candle I will probably stick with the smaller 8oz Apothecary ones.

I love this candle. I bought one for my daughter in a retail location where she lives. I loved the scent, so I ordered one here when I got home. I have not had any of the problems that others described. The scent fills the room just enough for my preference. It is not overwhelming or too sweet. I found it to be the perfect amount of fragrance and also mine burned just fine.
The only reason I gave it 4 rather than 5 stars, is I wish there were a refill. I love the holder and can use it for other candles. However I would re-order this same candle again and probably a number of times if I could purchase it without the holder, as I do not want to collect the holders. This is really exactly the amount and kind of scent I have been looking for but I am reluctant to purchase the whole container again.
