Great size for a frying pan, but when i unboxed it there were 4 visible spots that the pan was bent. Slightly disappointed with the condition it was in, but a good indication to be careful with the edges for future use.

OK, folks, it seems that many, in here, have no idea what a good skillet/frying pan is capable of doing. Along with that, so many do not understand what "seasoning" a given pan entails. Are you buying this 12" pan for its looks? Really? Do this, then: Buy a nice display rack, at a high-end shop, and mount this pan, right out of the box. Never use it, and it will look great and really impress your friends. I guarantee it. Do that with all of your "display" cookware. For those who actually want to cook on this pan: Heat it up, for a minute, pour in a high heat oil, if you are going that temperature route, place your pieces, get to flipping and/or stirring with a non-metallic utensil. I use wood, but I stay fairly low-medium heat as I'm a gourmet vegan cook. If you gouge this pan, in its infancy, with sharp, metal utensils, you will scratch it, badly, and guess what? Food will stick to it. If you scrub the heck out of it with metal pads, after each and every use, guess what? Food will stick to it, next time around. Instead of the above, try the gentle route: Clean up by simply rinsing and wiping down. Will you get a thin, manageable build-up of a little caramelized/carbonized food? Yes. Will it impart a distinctive "your style" flavor to your foods cooked in it? You bet, and that's the point. Now, if you're keeping kosher and/or doing meat, fish, dairy dishes, using higher heat settings, consider getting a few of these pans and keep them separate for each class of food you cook. If you are obsessed with good looking pans, cool. Just scrub the hell out of this pan, after each and every use, and then send it back when foods start to stick, which they most certainly will. Tip: Go to a top restaurant in your area and ask to watch its kitchen line in action. Watch the open flame guys working their pans. Check those . They will be very dark and look like properly seasoned woks. There's a reason for that: Chefs are out to cook great food, not win awards for pretty utensils. Good luck to you. This is an excellent pan. Correct weight, easy to use for flipping, evenly heats, handle stays fairly cool but watch higher heat activities. In a few days/weeks/months, it may be a bit dark, but food will not stick to it. Avoid using soap or cleanser, despite what you read in some of these posts. For safety, drain the grease, if present, let the pan cool, completely, rinse with hot water, use a no-scratch pad if you must, and then wipe it dry. You'll thank me. UPDATE: Warning: The reviews, here, are for every item, under the sun, made by Calphalon. I'm surprised at Amazon for having such a faulty review section. My review, as above, is for the Classic 12-inch Fry Pan, as shown. Amazon, are you listening? This review section needs to be cleaned up, on your end.

Awesome pan. I made eggs several times and no stuck on mess. My only small complaint is I've only hand washed as to keep its luster but it still looks like the luster is already fading

I was always sceptical about cooking with stainless steel pans until I watched my favorite chefs use several types of cookware including stainless steel. Being a pretty good home 'chef', needing to replace my worn go-to Cuisinart anodized pan, I gave this pan a try. It's GREAT for searing, frying and sauteing, all which I have done in this pan with chicken, fish and vegetables! I am using an electric stovetop which this pan is rated for all types of heating surfaces. Plus it handles EXACTLY the same as my old go-to pan yet is also dishwasher friendly! Easy clean-up so far and has maintained it's shine PLUS food DOES taste better when using a good quality pan! Will treat myself to additional stainless steel pans in the future and now know why all professional chefs like using stainless steel cookware.

Never buy this! This is the poorest fry pan I ever used! For the first time eggs stick on the bottom and make a huge stain. I cannot ever get rid of that stain!!! I will try to return it!

Wish I had bought this a long time ago! My old Calphalon hard anodized fry pans have started showing their age. I never use metal utensils with these, but the coating seems to be flaking or just looking ragged, so I decided to replace them. I started with this 8" pan and will work my way up now that I know how good it is. I love this pan. It's not non-stick, but not much sticks to it anyway and it's easy to clean. It also allows me to cook at a lower temperature and the heat is very evenly distributed. As I said, the bigger pans come next!

Beautiful pan love the feel only thing is mine came with many scratches which weren't visible until I washed it. Am going to try another and will update review with hopefully all stars. I love all my other calphalon pans but have had them for years and from other source.

This pan was much thinner and flimsier in construction than my other Calphalon Signature pans. Very lightweight, everything (even the handle) feels hollow, and the walls of the pan are so thin I'd worry about denting or bending them in regular use. Not to mention its ability to conduct and mediate heat when cooking. Shame. Returned.

I love this pan! The handle is nice to hold, the pan itself is a good weight, and foods cook beautifully. Be careful - the edge of this pan is actually pretty sharp, so make sure you don't scratch your other dishes with it.
