One of my favorite indie games. At least played over 300+ hours of it, and play it on switch and PC. Great OST. This game can be very simple and also extremely complex as you get into higher difficulties. If you’re in the mood for complicated RNG chess with mech suits and aliens, you’ve come to the right place.

All the battlefields are generated randomly leading to many situations where it’s near impossible to complete the mission objectives. A lot of the time it’s hard to even survive, and a loss in this game basically makes your restart from the very beginning.

Update: In my original review, the randomness of the battles was a bit of a turn off and rather frustrating. But I'm happy to say that, after getting the hang of things, the randomness and difficulty is something I began to absolutely love about this game. The different mechs squads you can choose combined with the random battle fields makes every replay a new experience, and with enough experience you find ways to get out of even the most difficult situations. At this point my only wish would be for the game to be longer and even tougher. So far I've clocked in over 95 hours of gameplay.

A professional reviewer made a comment about this game and how it values your time and refuses to waste it. I think that is the best way to sum up playing "Into the Breach." The gameplay loop is deceptively simple but with numerous choices as you play of pilots and mechs that can change every playthrough. On the switch this game fires up practically instantly and drops you back into your game at the same speed. You can jump out of a playthrough and restart your game within a minute and be back to trying to save the world when you screw up a timeline. I bought this because it was on half of the game of the year lists for 2018, and having played the main campaign through to victory about 10 times at this point, I have to agree, and put it right up there with Spider-Man, Super Smash, and God of War for my top games of the year.

If you're considering buying this game, just get it honestly. It's quite difficult at first, so I highly recommend you just play easy difficulty at first. However once you get more comfortable, tackle medium. I recommend you watch guides for this game as well, there are many online.

Great game to add to your switch library, game design permits playing it in smalls time intervals, say 10 to 15 minutes and still enjoy the heck out of it, a must for your Game collection.
