Customers like the quality of the transport rack. They say the bike was very secure for a 7-hour highway and winding road drive, the hold onto the front tire is solid, and the locking down of carrier is very stable. The rack feels solid, has a nice finish, and is easy to use. It does a great job of holding the rear of the bike in place, and it never once did it shake or rattle. The cardboard box is strong by how it is folded together, and that it clamps down well and releases easily.

Worth It (for me)
4 Stars
Worth It (for me)
I finally used my frontloader today and was pleased with the preformence and ease of use all around. It took very little time for me to attach it to my car, and less time for me to load my bike.Installation/Removal (Frontloader to Vechical)It is very quick to attach and remove the Frontloader, needing to only twist two located on the front and back (hint: loosen them prior to lifting the frontloader to the top of the car, and install the front end first since the back is adjustable). I installed it on my own in less than one minute. Removal is just as simple though may take longer if you purchased the additional locks.Installation/Removal (Bike to Frontloader)This is just as simple. Ensure the red knot in front is loosed enough to allow the frontloader to flip forward (may not make sense until you see it in action) Grab the bike by the back of the frame and front fork. Place you back wheel on the back of the Frontloader and then place your in the allowed slot. Tighten the red knob to secure, and buckle the back as well. Removal is just as simple.Concerns:Researching this I read many reviews of concerns people had.- It's made of plastic:This is true, the majority of the product is plastic with the exceptions of a few securing points and the cable. I live in an area (Hawaii) with a lot of salt in the air. Metal is the enemy to me and I actually like the plastic since it wont rust and is light weight (still durable though).- Will it fit my car:For the most part if you have rooftop bars it will work. While the back of the Frontloader is adjustable the front is not and must be places X (how every long it is) distance from the front cross bar as the front is not adjustable. This was a bit annoying to me because I have factory set crossbars and I can not adjust the front. This prevented me for being to use my trunk (pictured) however, I do not see why I can't just place the whole device on backwards. If I reverse the way the bike is facing the end part that blocks my trunk from opening would not longer be an issues. I'm not sure if this would take away from stability but I do not see how it could.- The locks are sold separately:Yep, I agree, it should be stranded and one of the reasons I gave it 4 stars.4 stars becuase the locks are not standard and the design does not allow the front to be adjusted. Overall, great product, light and easy to use.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works perfect -Only concern is that the security locks are not very safe and can be unlocked easily. Don't leave it unwatched
Reviewed in the United States on July 28, 2014
Very practical to install and uninstall, if you don't want to have the rack getting damaged by the sun, water and other things, this is the one.

The main concern is that the security locks are not very solid and safe seems that can be unlocked easily and the security cable its very thin. Don't leave it unwatched.

Also realize that this model doesn't look and feel as solid as the other models and you can feel it when you see the adjustment to the car bars and in somewhere because the movement of the bike while commuting. Also don't know how much pressure you can do on the plastic screws to fix this up to the bars without breaking anything.

I have also a concern about other reviews talking about the risk to lost the bike if the front tire get flat. Now I'm sure that this wont happens if you have the security cable on.

I guess that this rack should fit in any car, because if it don't let you open the back door you can turn it 180 degrees and all fixed. Also the design allows to mount it in any kind of bars.

Cons:
Back strap is too small
Concerns about security of the whole rack and Lock cores weakness and are quiet expensive.
Do not exceed 90Mph\145kmPh or the rack can fly out with your bike..happens to a friend.. lol

Pros:
Very easy to install and uninstall, also for thieves, lol.
Don't need additional parts to fit in any kind of bars as other references do.

Update:
I found a very important thing in another review that everyone should be aware off to really enjoy this rack.

By Tom Beausoleil: "The only possible issue I found was when tightening the front wheel down, if you don't hold it tight to the rack the tire has tendencies to lift away from the rack making it unstable. If you pay attention and hold the front tire down while tightening it works amazing."

Update2:
After the last travel, more than 350 KM realized that this rack was very well designed and the bike does not even move. Just need to be well installed and used it as indicated.
The small part that support the front well fall apart on the first use, seems like the screw is too short, I do recommend to check it up.

5.0 out of 5 stars A+ Rooftop Bike Rack!
Reviewed in Canada on April 10, 2023
This Yakima FrontLoader Rooftop Bike Rack is phenomenal! Not only is it super easy to install, but it is also by far the easiest rooftop bike rack I have used when it comes to mounting a bike. I love the zero-frame contact and it is as simple as rolling your wheel forward, locking into position, and done!

Super happy with this purchase, and the quality is great as expected. I can easily recommend this to anyone interested! An A+ product from Yakima!
