I'm a bit of a Seinhheiser fan since the Game ZERO, they have great quality sound and sturdy enough builds. However, dont read that as "I'm some weeby fan who will always rate 5 stars"...I also rate true based on price and other factors such as meeting general expectations.
Originally some reviews put me off of this for how expensive it was to invest in..."bad software", "terrible mic/latency", ect. However, after a lot of comparison videos and more research, I eventually just went with these as I love the auto-mute mic boom just from flicking it up, and the sound quality the company offers.
Let me start by saying these are quite large as far as how the protrude from the sides of your head and leave a gap almost the size of my hand...but the actual quality of the ear pieces and once you get them settled on your head is hard to beat. A little hot in long playthroughs since they are closed-ear, but super soft and comfy.
As far as the wireless goes, it connected almost immediately to my computer with nearly no setup other than hitting dongle button. It also can simultaneously connect to phone on bluetooth, and I've noticed I can still hear phone pings while on computer if I leave it on (some may like this...if anything it connects easy). I also can walk up the the 2nd story of our house from where my setup is and still use it, there's only slight interference on the stairs when there's several walls and materials in the way so not too bad. I've simply never had an issue with wireless cutting out and man have I loved not having to take my headset off every time I get up for something, and I can also still chat on discord walking around.
The sound quality is typical Seinhheiser although I imagine one of their better wired headsets could rival it better. Surround is pretty great too for most things especially games like Battlefeild 1 or Warzone, or any open world kind of game. The battery life is pretty decent too and I only charge it like every other day from constant use. However the actual charge time is only like 10 min and will get you from low to max in one round of any game lol. (Yes it can charge while still being used through dongle so nothing messing up your play time)
TL:DR - in about 2 months or less of time, I have had no issues really, and found it worth the steep price. Personally the big seller for me is always the mutable mic boon - as no other headset I wanted had a moveable/retractable boon that also muted easily - and the sound control dials on the side. That combo makes me keep gettin Seinhheiser, along with epic sound crispness and quality. The only real lacking feature is being able to customize the app presets and multifunctional button more, because you cant delete the presets you dont like in app and the button only cycles through them in order if you set it up for changing presets (I just have mine set to switch to surround sound)
The EPOS gaming suite is a blight. Sennheiser needs, NEEDS, to get some actual good devs to fix that garbage application. The software looks like it was developed in the mid 2000s. Updating drivers and firmware is a NIGHTMARE.
Cons:
1. I know it sounds good but Windows is dumb af and will never know which audio source to use. It not only has Bluetooth, but there are also two audio devices when connected to your PC. Speakers and Communication Audio. In theory, this is great, to be able to change chat volume. BUT IT NEVER WORKS. You have to reboot/restart drivers to get it to even recognize the headset. Such a maddening process. EPOS software needs to GO.
2. If you have another 2.4 device nearby (like a wireless mouse), there is a solid chance you will get regular interference in your audio from it. You also need some sort of extender USB cable to get it away from your PC or mobo because that WILL cause issues.
3. Woe be unto you if you and your significant other have the same headset. Just don't. They'll fight each other all the time and interfere, one will win and the others' headset is just useless. You can fix this by moving apart from each other, but...why would I want to?
4. Unable to set priority to a specific protocol. Bluetooth ALWAYS trumps the 2.4. You get a call you're not going to answer? Too bad, the Bluetooth will override your 2.4 and you'll have to wait for the call to end or answer and hang up for it to switch back. Dumb. You could always disconnect the Bluetooth to avoid that but...that's kind of a feature? Shouldn't have to do that.
5. There's no "noise cancellation" in the sense that it will adjust audio to compensate for background noise. They're just isolating headphones, nothing special. Earbuds with a proper fit work better.
6. The mic, just like every other Sennheiser headset for gaming, turns off when you raise the boom. Until it doesn't, which is the case for my husband's set. Worked for like a week and now raising the boom does literally nothing. You can hear him with the boom raised. Disappointing.
7. Micro-USB - just, why? Why in the world is the charging and updating done via micro-USB?! Just plain dumb. USB-C would be such a welcome change.
8. The buttons for pairing and turning the headset on/off are just annoying. They're sliders (!?) and hard to figure out without rereading the manual.
9. Also, dear god, the British chick that talks to you when the headset is low has nearly made me soil myself so many times - out of nowhere "RECHAAJ HEDSET". Pretty sure you can turn it off but really, just beep or something. I don't need an intruder scaring me half to death when my headset battery is low.
10. I thought they didn't look so bad in the images but yeah, they're pretty big and hang off your head a fair way. I've clipped many a wall or doorway walking around the house with them on. They're just bulky.
11. Audio and mic filters in the EPOS software are useless. They're either completely unnoticeable or completely whack. Don't bother using them.
12. "Surround sound" yeah that's a bloody fine joke. It's simulated. I don't think there are even audio drivers in-headset to support 7.1. It's all software smoke and mirrors. Sounds terrible.
13. Adjusting the headset even slightly kills the sound isolation. If this headset is not in the EXACT right spot, you're gonna get audio bleeding out and nobody wants that.
Pros (yeah):
1. When you can get the drivers to WORK, the audio is actually pretty good. Not mind-blowing, just good facsimile. I'm not an audiophile, I just game and work on them. Take that for what you will. Stereo only, see point 12 above.
2. Mic is decent. No headset mic can replace a desk mic but it does a decent enough job over competitors. Still has that "tinny" sound though.
3. Fairly good fit, I have a square had and usually use the last one or two buttons on a snap back hat and it fits well. Doesn't pinch, isn't too heavy. You'll have to adjust it every now and then because it will ride weird in the middle of your head after awhile (see point 13).
4. Range is decent. I can get about 30 feet away (1 wall) before it starts to drop out.
5. Side-tone and noise gate options for mic are nice but they reset all the time and you'll never even know it. Not worth.
Conclusion:
Don't buy these. They are such a monumental pain to configure and keep configured correctly to be even remotely worth it. Buy literally anything from Sony or Arctis before considering these. This is one of the most regrettable purchases I've had in a long while. I hate them, my husband hates them; but we forked over the cash and tried them out and now we can't return them (whatever, that's on us).
Sennheiser has seriously failed to deliver with this headset, such a shame from a reputable company.
DO NOT BUY THIS.
YOU WILL REGRET IT.
YOU WILL RETURN IT.
YOU WILL BUY SOMETHING ELSE IN THE LONG RUN.
SAVE YOURSELF THE PAIN.
RUN CHILD, RUN.

Pros:
Comfortable fit with a large earcups and a headband that fits both large and small heads
Great sound quality that rivals even wired headsets
Good quality mic
Separate main/communication audio channels with separate volume control for both
Fast charging
Cons:
Pretty expensive, you could get better value for your money if price is an issue
Battery life is shorter than other options available
Wireless platform doesn't allow for an easy connection to a mixamp or other external audio equipment
Sound is definitely premium.
