These little sticker books from Dover are so fun! Sure, they are small, but they make great surprises or stocking stuffers for kids. The book, though small, is of high quality, and the stickers are wonderfully illustrated! My son, who loves trains, was very happy to find this one in his stocking! It kept him occupied for awhile, and he has kept it proudly since he used it up. Great fun for the inexpensive cost.

My four year old sits quietly with these and plays by herself for a very long time which anyone knows is worth it's weight in gold. This is the second child I have used these with and both loved them. They last a very long time even through lots of reuse, they are very cheap, take up almost no room in the bag and kids love them. What more could you ask for? We have several of these so I'm putting this review on each of them. This one in particular along with the nativity and the one that looks like Sea World are a little bit tricky to work with because there are too many things that the kids want to put all in the small space. This doesn't matter as much with the other ones because you are making different scenes but with these ones they seem to want to put everything one at once.

the book is nice, vintage looking graphics, definitely unique original illustrations, colors are muted and watercolor/ ink looking technique - but it's only 4 pages in a tiny book. i'd hope it would have more contents for the money. at 2 dollars per book it makes it more of a regular child gift than a party favor. well, at least i will have this elegant fancy little book in the favor bags for kind (train themed party)

cute, but not quite what I'd hoped

I bought this to throw into my diaper bag while traveling with my train-obsessed 2.5 year old. I figured this book would be fun for him when I needed an easy-to-carry distraction. I wound up pulling it out once, when my husband and I were trying to eat but our son was totally uninterested in the meal. I thought it might keep him occupied long enough for us to finish our food. It helped a bit, but to be honest, it didn't keep his interest very long, and he didn't enjoy it as much as I'd hoped.

Here's a breakdown of the good and the bad:
First of all, they really mean the "little" in Dover Little Activity Book brand name - the book is a bit smaller than a 4x6 photo. It's made up of a cute little train tracks/train station/countryside sort of background scene spanning the inside of the covers, and a couple of pages of removable, reusable train, car, and people stickers that can be placed on the background pages to fill in the scene. The stickers are indeed removable and reusable (though they can tear when handled by a not-entirely-gentle toddler). There are plenty of stickers to keep a little one interested. However, because the book was so small, there's really only room for a few stickers at a time. That became a problem in a fairly short time. My little guy got very frustrated when he wanted to line up several train cars on the pictured tracks, but ran out of room to place them on the page.

If the book had been just a bit bigger, I think my son would have found less frustration and more enjoyment. Even changing the orientation (having the "spine" along the shortest edge, so the book opens into a longer, narrower scene) would have helped. As it was, this little book kept my toddler busy for just a little while before he lost patience with its tiny size. If you're looking to keep a little one busy with a quiet activity for no more than 5-10 minutes at a stretch, this'll do the trick. If you're hoping for a bit more, this little book probably isn't for you.

Inaccurate description....Shipping overcharge.

The description of this book should be booklet, not a book, or activity book. It's just a few stickers with a cover. The size is not much larger than a recipe card.
This booklet could have been sent for less than a dollar...and shipping time within 3 days. Instead the tiny booklet looks like a large book in the advertisement, and you're deceived into thinking it would require the same shipping as a book. It's small enough and light enough to be placed in an envelope or paper mailer.
Then after I make my purchase for a dollar and a half, they start selling them for a penny.
I've always trusted Amazon....but not anymore!

Cute sticker books great for party favors

Our son loves trains and we love Dover Publishing so these made perfect party favors. They're small enough to fit in a favor bag and have interesting scenes to fill in with cool stickers. I love that they aren't branded with any mass marketed characters. They rely on pure imagination and love of trains. We always buy Dover sticker books for birthday favors. They seem to have a book for every theme we can imagine.

Not reusable stickers.

Unfortunately this is not really as described. It says reusable stickers so I thought it would be more like window cling kind of material but it is not. They are just regular paper like stickers that my toddler ripped 5 minutes into opening this book. Also it’s about 5” tall and 4” wide. So smaller than I thought. Might be better for older kids but honestly it’s so small you can only put like 4 stickers out of 30 on there at a time without them overlapping and if they over lap they get stuck together and rip.

The price is right for this tiny book of stickers. My son really enjoyed it for the 5 mins it took to go through it. He was able to place trains and people and train crossing lights where he wanted. Was even able to remove them and restock them a couple of times. That was it though. No words, nothing educational.
