The StoryOur story begins with a team of performance footwear veterans, determined to create something better for the body. Athletic shoes propel through fast rebounding, high energy-return foams; so our founders first set out to find a new type of material that would absorb impact, rebound slowly and facilitate recovery after workouts or long days on your feet. |
The DesignThe result of our founders’ efforts is our proprietary OOfoam technology and a patented footbed that maximizes the foam’s properties. Today, these principles guide the design of all OOFOS styles:
|
The TechnologyOOfoam Technology is the proprietary ingredient that makes OOFOS different from other “comfortable” footwear and elevates us to a scientifically proven recovery solution.^ When you “feel the OO,” that’s OOfoam - and it’s only from OOFOS. ^Based on a University of Virginia laboratory study |
The Patented FootbedEvery pair of OOFOS is developed using the same patented footbed geometry. It enables more natural motion, cradles & supports the arch, and reduces stress on sore feet, knees & the back. No matter which style you choose, you get the perfect blend of soft & supportive as you move through your day. |

I have had these shoes for 3 months - I bought them because I am obsessed with their flip flops/sandals as they have basically cured my horrible plantar fasciitis. I wanted to be able to do a bit more walking, and the flip flops (while great) aren't awesome for long walks. I saved up for a while to be able to justify these because, let's be honest - it hurts to spend $60 on the (clearly injectable-foam-molded) flip flops, let alone double the price on pretty ugly shoes. But I did it.
I have worn these maybe 5 times total, only used them to walk on paved easy trails, maybe clocking a total of under 10 miles over the course of a few hikes. As you can see, they look terrible. The soles are pitted and already disintegrating. The edges of the foam are showing permanent compression lines. They feel like they have no support already.
The design of the shoe is also confusing - the band across the top is in a strange place and offers no support and no real aesthetic value. The back green tabs have given me heel blisters (solved by wearing higher socks), and they are both too wide and too narrow in the tip! It's like they were designed by someone who has never worn shoes before.
Honestly, if these were $35, I wouldn't be complaining. It would be a case of "you get what you pay for" and we'd all move on with our lives. But for $120, I expected to be wow'd and never want to take them off. But even THEN, I could overlook how hideous they are and the price even, IF they actually felt like they were well-made durable shoes. But they do not.
If you want a great pair of walking shoes, and you're about to spend this kind of money on them, skip OOFOS and get Oboz.
