Funny story, fun to read out loud
Bartelby’s bottom is the star of this story – and anything with booties is going to get my kids’ votes. HAHA! Cute story about a looooong doggie who is loved by everyone… but causes mayhem because he’s so long, he never knows what’s happening at his tail end! There are several words in this story that would be too much for our just-beginning readers to conquer, but that’s OK because the clever wording in this story makes it SUPER FUN to read out loud! Each page only has a sentence or two on it, but be prepared to pause because of all the giggling that comes along! Our kids enjoyed thoroughly investigating each page’s drawings, because there are many details to see. Oh, Bartelby! What will become of your reckless rear??

Cute story about Bartleby, a very very very long dog who doesn't always know where his bottom is, and that creates all sorts of mayhem. The story is funny and is ultimately about friends helping out, the drawings are cute and funny, the vocabulary isn't dumbed-down, and overall it's a fun and funny book that my 4 yo daughter loves having me read it to her countless times. Recommended!

The Very, Very, Very Long Dog is about a very cute dog with a very long behind named, Bartelby. Bartelby lives in a bookstore and has a group of friends who love to take him on his daily walks. Little does Bartelby know that during these walks, his behind is causing much chaos! One day when he realizes what kind of destruction he has unknowingly caused, Bartelby decides to never leave the book shop again. Will his friends be able to help him? Will he ever be able to take a walk again without messing things up?
Such a super cute story! My son and I read this together and he really enjoyed it! He especially liked Bartelby’s name! The story does contain some very big vocabulary words which kids might not understand at first, but I think will make for good conversations! I definitely want to pick this one up for my library at school! 🐶📚
