Great boonie, but go one size up!

I read many of the reviews before purchasing this boonie, so I had a pretty good idea what to expect. First off, I normally wear a 7 1/2 baseball cap, so I ordered a 7 3/4 based on many reviews saying to order a size up. Fits perfect and very comfortable to wear! The brim is slightly smaller than other boonies, but it does the job and I really like the design. The thinner material and vents in the upper portion help keep your head cool. And the A-TACS pattern matches my Browning A-TACS camo gear perfectly(see pictures). I just tested this boonie while hog hunting in Texas last weekend in 90+ humid weather, and the hat was a dream. For the money, you won't find a better boonie! I like it so much, I am buying a second one to keep as a backup for when this one wears out!

the product is very nice. the portion that sits on your head has a great fit and has ventilation holes so you can dry off sweat when wearing it. the rim sits exactly how you would imagine it would after seeing it in movies and games. the nice wavy surface that makes it not look like a multicamed dress hat. the strap also doesnt look bad, i wouldnt trust putting a lot of force on it, but it will do the job.

also i originally bought this in the wrong size. i got a size 7 and thought it was a size 7.75. i contacted amazon customer service being worried that i would have to go through the hassle of getting it packed up and pay to ship it back, but they made it a very smooth process. they gave me a form to print out and attach it to my returning product. they also refunded me the money for the product and instructed me to buy another one in the right size. the best part was when they told me that they will pay for my next day shipping to replace this product and sure enough when i bought the right size hat i got an email stating that i have been refunded for shipping cost. Now that, in my book, is outstanding customer service. more companies need to do this.

I ordered a size 7 and it fits like a glove, not too tight, not too loose. I usually wear around size 7 1/4 or 7 1/8, each hat is specifically different and not the exact measurement, so maybe I got lucky. But everyone is saying these run small but they all probably don't know their measurements like they think. Measure your head if you can, and look on proppers size chart on their website. Takes 5 minutes and could save you from a hassle. Multicam looks good and the tips too material feels durable. Thanks guys!

The good.
I prefer the Nylon/Cotton blend over polyester. It's softer, thicker, has a slippery feel (so more comfortable on bald head).

The not great:
The sewing was off a little bit on the back of the hat so it fit a little funny at first until it "reformed" it's shape. ( -1 star)
The brim is not as large as other boonie hats I have. The Tru Spec is larger brim, so you might want to consider that if
it's an issue to you.
Also, these Propper hats tend to fit a little small on me. I have three and I had to size up from 7 5/8 to 7 3/4.
And, my experience is you will have some shrinkage. So stay out of that cold water!! (Seinfeld reference)

Typically a 7 1/8 size fits my head well so based on the reviews I ordered this hat in 7 1/4. It fits perfect and quality wise is exactly what I expect from Propper. Good overall construction, nice medium size brim, fine wire mesh air vents (4), chin strap with leather retention, excellent Multicam pattern (even, well distributed across the hat). Very happy with this hat and would purchase again.

Great hat, true multicam. I ordered a 7.5" cause I have a big head (some reviewers said to order a size larger but I wished I hadn't), it's a little loose and the strap can be tightened but the string gets worn fairly quickly and the strap will loosen after a while of wear (I wear it behind my head instead of under chin). The strap is also not sewn to the center points on both sides of the inside of the hat, barely noticable. For the price though and the ruggedness I have yet to see another boonie match up to this one. Great buy.

This is a mil-spec boonie hat. It's great for gardening, outdoors, music festivals, naps in the sun, fishing or anything else that you'd want to do outdoors while keeping the sun off your face and neck without looking like a senior citizen, not that there's anything wrong with that. It folds up well and can be thrown in a cargo pants pocket or back pack. Machine washing and air drying have not affected the feel, size or shape. The heavy canvas/cotton can get a little warm if you wear your hair long, just FYI. I'm told that some people will soak their boonie hats in cold water and put them on for additional cooling. Haven't tried that yet, but seems to make sense. Sizing was right on the money.
