Be damned Fire Ants!!
After my feet got completely ripped up by fire ants in a lightning fast attack as I was cleaning out under the bushes in my yard, I realized that although I live in Florida and it’s warm and lovely, sneakers ain’t gonna do the job when playing around in the garden. Enter my new beautiful Wellies. Perfect. You better believe I stomped all over after getting these, right in fire ant territory while putting down bait and getting rid of those little monsters. Not one bite! Plus these Wellies are super cute. Octopi print inside! Woohoo! Love these. Highly recommended by yours truly. Probably really good for rain also ; ‘ ).PS: get yourself some good rubber shoe protector, keeps ‘em glossy and protected.

These are adorable! I live in the Oregon coast and good rain boots are a necessity. My other pair of xtratuf’s are men’s neoprene from the farm store are men’s neoprene and brown, so I was super excited to get some girly ones! I love that when it’s hot I can wear them folded down with shorts (yes, rain boots are sometimes still necessary). Without the neoprene they are very comfortable for greenhouse/farm work in the spring and summer. It took me a bit to get used to the thinner soles, but no issues even walking on sharp gravel or having to put a lot of pressure while shoveling. The first day I wore them the local fishermen were like “nice new boots!” I had never expected those guys to notice!
I love the collaboration with Salmon Sisters! Both great companies and I couldn’t be happier!!!

Exchanged for size 7 and am so happy I did. No I won't be able to wear my husband's thick thermal wool socks but I spent the day in them mucking around thick mud cleaning fired pits and trekking wooded land wearing my normal smartwools underneath. Absolutely loved them in a more fitted size. Feet were comfortable and the boot performed.

These are GREAT boots. I'm disappointed though because I heeded the recommendation to size up. I fall between a 7 & 7 1/2 (true 37.5) and ordered size 8 based off recommendation. These things are humongous on my feet, I'd have to wear my husband's thick double wool socks in order to prevent my foot from sliding around and my ankle & heel from slipping up. This is not ideal because I prefer a smart wool type sock which is warm but not bulky and thick.

I like these boots because I need a light weight footwear with superior traction but having to layer up underneath negates the freedom and flexibility this boot otherwise offers.

I bought these boots to traipse around in the mud and rain with my dog during our frequent Washington rains and I am soooo excited. I just got my boots yesterday, I wear a size 11 and they fit perfectly (true to size.) I'll be able to wear a thicker pair of socks without my feet feeling completely squished, but it might be a smidge snug if you're planning on wearing super thick socks--not sure yet. The top of the boot is tight to the calf (hence the 4 stars), especially if you tuck your pants in so they don't get wet. (I have softball calves.) However, since these are fishing boots, I imagine that it makes sense that that calves are tighter so water doesn't come in from the top if you're wearing waders??? It's not uncomfortably- cut off your circulation tight, but it does make the ankle area feel pretty loose when the calf is so securely snug in place. (I have issues with tight fitting items so I'll update later if it becomes an issue.) Not sure if that was the intent with the design or if they just have smaller calves. If not, I'd like to make a suggestion to the company that they increase the circumference of the top of the boot by just a few cm--then they'd be perfect.

The boots are soft and flexible, there is a nice little bit of cushion in the sole, not like other brands/types of rain boots. These feel like they are made to last. Since I've gone through 5 pair of rain boots in 6 years, I'm really looking for longevity and comfort. I'll update after a few months or so. **Their packaging specifically (and the boots, a little) do have a rubber smell so if you're sensitive to chemical scents, toss the box and wrapping fast and let the boots off gas for a day outside, in the sun if possible. I have MCS and once I got rid of the box and plastic it came in, I was fine. The boots are sitting inside by the door and the smell has not bothered me.
