Got this for a little extra warmth for my "office", and so far, so good. My "office" is in quotes because I'm actually in an odd shaped multi-purpose room that is bigger than your typical 10x10 office. Note that this is being used for supplemental heat. The whole office has central heating/AC, but my corner does not get very good flow, so is a bit cold while the rest of the office is comfortable.
Pros: Nice slim design, light weight, easy to move around as necessary, but seems reasonably stable. Cord length is reasonable (~4' cord, two prong polarized.)
Cons: No actual temperature setting.
Observations: Definitely need to do the break-in procedure (run it on max/high in a well ventilated area for at least 30 mins.), otherwise you will get a nasty odor from it. There are two dials, one is a High/Low/off control that controls the overall unit. The other is an indicator dial running from 1-6. You pick a setting (High/Low), crank it to 6, then when the room is warm enough, back off the number dial just until the temperature sensor "clicks." After that, it's set. As long as you don't change the number dial, it will go back to that set "temperature."
It isn't totally silent, but I think you would have to be very sensitive to noise if it really bothered you. I find that even my typing on the computer, or a background radio washes it out completely. The thermostat clicks when it triggers, but otherwise it is mostly silent. When you move the unit around there's also a sound that is probably the tip-over sensor inside. Sounds almost like something is loose, but it's not.
It's a heater, so yes, the front grill and where the grill wraps up to the top gets hot to the touch. I don't have a thermometer or way of reading the exact temperature, but it's not hot enough to burn at a light touch, but definitely not something you'd want to grab onto. The back gets warm to the touch, but nothing dangerous. The sides remain cool to the touch. The carrying handle slot near the top back gets warm, but unfortunately it's also near the top grill opening, so you could end up touching the grill if you weren't careful. I wouldn't have this running unsupervised where small children who don't understand the danger might grab the grill, though I don't think they'd suffer any real damage by just touching it (and they'd probably learn to not touch it by doing so...)
On high it does draw a lot of power, so you will need to be careful with whatever else you have plugged into that circuit. The specs say it draws over 13amps on high. Your typical circuit is 15 or 20 amps, so if you have too much other stuff on that circuit it may trip the breaker.
I just recently got the unit, so no idea as to durability yet. Only time will tell. Should anything change, I'll update my ratings, but for now, this unit does what I expected, and has given me no issues.
As of 2/3/2016, no issues so far. Heats up nice and fast, no odor, or noise. Does a great job of warming my office.
This thing is basically awesome. I had a 400 watt oil heater before this. It was nice enough but smelled vaguely like oil even after using it for weeks, so upgraded to this.
I'm sensitive to noise. This does make a transformer hum, faintly. I run a 35 decibel air purifier fan, which is apparently the volume of a recording studio or whisper, louder than a ticking watch, quieter than a library. When my 35 decibal air purifier in on, I can't hear this heater on high even putting my ear next to it. It's much quieter than any fan I've ever found, about the same noise as a ceiling fan on the slowest level; basically unhearable unless you're close or in an extremely silent room. The low heat level is even quieter.
The heat does mainly go UP. Nature of heat. However, the heat can be felt very nicely from about 2 feet away, and on high can be felt a little even 6 feet away.. I roll this over next to me at my desk when the temps are low and it feels just like a nice fireplace. It doesn't overly heat up my desk or chair, either. I live in a terribly insulated room with a high ceiling in an old building in the mountains where temps get down as low as 10 degrees F, and this keeps the room quite warm. Reviews saying different heaters have different warming properties are crap by the way; wattage determines how well something heats a room. This has the standard 700-ish/1500-ish wattage of most heaters. The only way it's any 'warmer' is because you can roll it right next to you.
I'm also very sensitive to smells. This new smell isn't bad or chemical smelling, it's just...something. I ran it for about 5 hours in another room to get rid of the new smell. After that it was completely smell-free even on high.
I keep it on wheels rather than on a wall. The wheels are handier than I expected. Easy to move around. It has a little handle on the back too for picking it up. Touching the front grate does not burn you instantly, but it is quite hot and can only be touched for a moment when on. It'd be good for kids, hot enough they'd learn to not touch it without injuring themselves. The back stays amazingly cool. Near the top the back is hot but not burning. This is a one-directional heater, and I love that. The thermostat and level knobs are pleasant to use. I'm really, really impressed with this thing.

I live in Edmonton and bought this to supplement heat in our finished walkout basement. I have an office down there that is open to the family room. After trying a few heaters from Canadian Tire and Homedepot that I was not happy with, I bought this one.
It’s quiet and perfect for what I need. I have the wheels on it so I can move it around. You set it by heating the area to what you feel is comfortable and then turning the dial until you hear a click. Then the heater will continue to heat the area to that temperature. There is no fan and it doesn’t seem to need one. It’s only the end of October though, so ask me again in January. But so far so good, I would recommend this for supplemental heat. My area is approximately 15 x 30 feet with the office at one end and I am comfortably warm downstairs now.
PROS: Quiet, works after a power failure, looks good
CONS: No thermostat, a useful feature for any heater is a wireless thermostat that you can mount on a wall
