The unit has two very outstanding features, one is being able to adjust the thickness of the shave of the ice and the other is a drain that actually works. The unit may appear to be a bit bulky in size but it is actually requires less space than the Vivo 440. Although any standard refrigerator sized ice cube will work, I achieved my best results with small square cubes. Since the unit is gravity feed as opposed to hand pressure it comes equipped with a reverse switch to remove ice build up under heavy use.
I had a couple of Vivo 440s prior to this unit and although they worked great and could process any style of cube including 2 1/2” Square, I couldn’t get them delivered from Amazon without shipping damaged. So I return the damaged 440s to Amazon without issue and paid the extra $20 and bought this unit, with which I am very happy with and I’m going to keep.
The unit so far seems to be near perfection in this price range, however the only thing I can mention is that you need to leave the lid open after use. The lid seals tight with magnets and doesn’t let the moisture escape.
