In terms of padding, they're on the harder side, which is my preference, but other people might want something a little softer. In any case, I hardly notice them when riding, and that's my ultimate concern when it comes to cycling gloves.
When I first got mine, there was a loose thread protruding from one of the gloves, which I clipped. No threads have loosened since, so it seems they're holding up well.
