4 Stars
Well built and well padded and has a sturdy outter padded frame that will protect your camera. Simple and holds a ton.
Good solid case. Padded all around. Has a sturdy boxed shaped frame with extra sturdy bottom. It will sit up on its own. Large but simple to get in and out of. I also have an Ape Case, ACPRO1900 Regular sized. It has a large buckle, then a zipper to open, then an interior zipper. This took too long to open and grab the camera.Following my pictures, 1. It will hold a full frame camera, with a 100-400 mm lens with an extension, plus it is deep enough for a 45-70 mm with hood on the right way, a 16-35mm with the hood on the right way, a 100mm with hood reversed as it is a long hood, Full sized flash, flash trigger, and cleaning supplies. It is plenty deep to have a battery grip also. The flap that covers the camera area has two webbed pockets and is well padded. 2. The case also has a smaller second zipper area that is a bit more than an inch deep with 2 elastic storage compartments, memory pockets, and a key clip - it too is well padded. This compartment fits my 10" Kindle with a big fat cover on it easily. 3. On the far outside near the middle, there is a shallow zippered pocket that goes all the way to the bottom of the bag, great for cables and controller. 4. Sitting at the bottom outside of the case is a storage pocket with pen slots and an unzippered netted pocket- good for pens and notepad? 5. Both sides have an expandable pocket with velcro but no zipper; a large battery charger fits good here but I wish it zippered. There are also clips to hold the camera compartment to the bag so your camera will never fall out if the zipper fails Onto the back - 6 and 7. The straps are well padded with slots to connect things to and there is a chest belt, The whole back is modestly padded, like a school book bag. 8 and 9. At the bottom back is a storage pocket for a hip belt and full rain cover. The hip belt is not padded. When this case is full as pictured, the hip belt not being padded maybe this bags shortcoming. But again, it is a simple bag that holds a lot of lenses. 10. There are straps at the bottom for a tripod. My Ape case was so comfortable filled, that I could hike all day and it was very comfortable. It can hold even more accessories, but there were so many compartments I could never find anything. I will more than likely never fill this case this full and take a hike. I could have probably gotten the smaller Ruggard, but it is not as deep, so the lenses probably would not be able to sit upright in it.
