I’m sure at one time or another we have all wished for a genie only to discover later that we would be unhappy if our wish had been answered. Such is the case with this book, Dean thought he knew what he wanted when in reality he really wanted something else. Enter a genie who brings him joy and means more than his original wish and we can see the love grow between them. I look forward to the next book in the series.

I love how Dean tried to give Janelle what she had been missing, and how Janelle had spunk and attitude, and wasn’t just accepting of her miserable lot in life. I only have 2 complaints— 1) I “wish” Dean had granted Janelles freedom. Couldn’t he wish for that? And 2) the problem with the old master was very anticlimactic. I feel like there should have been more story there.
