Good sturdy treadmill extra stuff like fan and ifit could be better
Two week update: really enjoying the video work outs more then I thought I would. Has been pushing me to go harder then I normal. All the work outs can be used without a membership (which is a must because it advertises 32 on board workouts). However without a paid Ifit membership you can’t use the favorites which makes starting a work out take longer, you can’t use the google maps work outs, and you can’t use the work outs on the main home screen you have to access a bunch in the workout Library. 8 months in and Nordictrack updated the software and most the work out videos are repacked with simple interval work outs, only a dozen videos are now free.Pros:Really sturdy treadmill. Feels like a gym quality machine. I can run and it doesn’t shake or make a lot of noice. I’m 6 feet 240lbs. The info during the manual work outs is nice.No issue assembling myself. delivery was fast and hassle free. The low 7” height of the treadmill deck is nice for using in our basement with a low cealing.Cons:takes a min to turn on because the tablet has to load, but u can start walking while it’s loading.Fan is noisy. Would be nicer if you could aim the fan.Ifit seems expensive and the load time when browsing the work out menus is long. But the year free trial is a perk. Some of the work outs you can select without a membership but the app will keep on asking you to sign up while your browings. There are no built in work outs. It has to be online and the work outs are all through Ifit8 months in and Nordictrack updated the software and most the work out videos are repacked with simple interval work outs, only a dozen videos are now free. Will update if the treadmill breaks and I need to use icon fitness for help.Overall I would recommend.

I've been using the treadmill on a daily basis for a little over 2 months now. It is very durable and definitely cushions during my runs. I haven't had any knee pain as I've had with other treadmills in the past. It is very easy to adjust the belt with a quick turn of the adjusters on the sides of the treadmill belt. Although it requires signing up and paying fee either for each month, year or 2 years (best deal), the integration with iFit is what makes this treadmill special.

The iFit programs, which can be added to the workout queue - just need to click join from the iFit library -, include weight loss (the 30 days with Jillian Michaels was by far my favorite as it controlled treadmill speed as well), and workouts on trails, parks, states and cities all over the world by using google maps integration (the street view option is what I use). What makes this special, is that the treadmill automatically raises the incline when going up hill. This feature keeps the workouts both interesting and challenging. The only thing that would make it a home run would be if more of the workouts also controlled the treadmill speed like the Jillian Michaels workout.

I am 5'6" so the fan actually lines up perfectly for me. I know that others have complained that it blows either over their head or on their chest. The controls are also situated in a perfect place to easily adjust speed or incline as necessary. The treadmill can also be folded up with the aid of hydraulics. A great, space savings feature and makes it easy to move as well.

I opted to get the assembly service as the treadmill is quite heavy and would be incredibly difficult to set up myself. The 2 gentlemen wound up taking over 2 hours to put it together, but I'm happy to say that they did a great job.

Overall it's a great treadmill that I highly recommend.

UPDATE 2/3/2018

HORRIBLE SUPPORT SERVICE.

The Support is the worst. It takes hours on the phone to get them on the phone. They hang up on you half of the time. They do not ever call back.

First time I got sent new circuit board. Replaced it, the same problem. So it did not fix. I called the support spend an hour on the phone this time they actually tried to do some troubleshooting. Said it was data wire on the machine. The one that runs inside of the stand from the bottom to the panel.

The support person said that I could test the wire but she was going to send the wire anyway.,
I did not want to keep her on the phone, I should have.
When I hung up I tested the wire with a meter and all the wires inside the cable are good. So the wire is not the issue.
I called back the support, it took about 4 phone calls and 4 hours on hold. Finally got somebody on the phone.
He told me that the issue is the wire. I said I tested all the wires and it is not the issue. He said no, the issue is not the wire it is the signal. Whatever that means. I explained that it is not the case and the wire cannot fix anything because there is no problem with it.
He hung up on me.

Now I have few more days to return this or ask for a replacement. At this point, I have been waiting for a month and don't want to keep doing this thing that will not fix anything. So I am sending this back. Do not think I will ever be buying their product. Going to try Proform next.

Packaging / Delivery:
Packaging is fine. Delivery is fine.
Assembly:
Took few hours to put together. Instructions are simple enough at least for me.
Operation:
It is not working. This is disappointing when something is DOA.
Rapid clicking noise coming from the machine. It is the relay on the circuit board trrrrrrrrrr...
This is probably something simple maybe they have to replace the controller board....
Support Experience:
Support is really painful to work with...
Online support request not answered in 24 hours.
Phone support 20-minute hold at least. Then call dropped, no callback...
The online chat took several tries. Same thing... if something times out you have to start over. You get a different person.
They seem to leave some notes. I was able to email video. But then chat timed out and I had to talk to another person they could not see what I emailed. They could not email transcript. There is a wait. Chat makes no noise, you have to look at the app to see if there is a reply. So literally sitting staring at the chat for an hour... If you get distracted and it times out... You start over.

There is not like a ticket number you can work with or anything. Really? You make me get an account and pay a subscription to ifit in this day and age and you cannot use sensible ticketing system or support online or email that is trackable.

Finally after about 5 tries. They told me that I need controller replaced. I could have told you that.
Shipping 5-7 business days...on the part...

She gave me tracking numbers in the chat, you cannot copy on the iphone out of the chat... 2 tracking numbers like 8 letters and numbers each...
We have been spoiled with good UI now... This is painful experience.

This is my first treadmill purchase ... I was psyched... And this bummed me out. If I did not put in all that time putting it together or if I did not have to take it apart and repackage it. I would just return it and get something else. But now its a pain in the neck.

Other than that it looks like the machine is adequate. Though I am by no means an expert. The software is running Android. Seems a bit clanky.
You have to pay for the ifit thing like 180 for a year or 270 for 2 years. I wonder if there is a way to get out of that app and load something like ifit but free.

I asked if perhaps I can get Ifit account for a year for the inconvenience... She said she does not do ift... instead offered me a matt or 40$ worth of lube for belt.... meh... does not particularly excite me.

So that's my experience.

In today's world, hardware like this that is so dependant on the software and cannot have such horrible experience.

Did a lot of research on treadmills in this specific price range and settled on this unit after reading hundreds of reviews and watching countless youtube videos.

The treadmill is as expected, heavy and the box is large and came pretty damaged. I went out to the Fedex truck to help the guy bring it to my door step and in return, he helped my take it in the house which was much appreciated. Despite the damage to the box the treadmill was fine as it was packed very, very well.

The assembly took about an hour with very basic tools, put a screw here, tighten this, etc.

Using this treadmill is not unlike a high priced piece of club equipment. Although the track feels ever so slightly smaller, the feel and rigidity of the machine itself is very reassuring. The software of the machine is fun, as you can run through any google earth or google maps neighborhood, trails, or cities you want, and the machine will raise and lower the angle in response to the corresponding change on the map. It is fun to plot a path through a random town and then run through the town on the screen. Keep in mind this feature does cost $100 a year, although it is worth it to us as we work on getting back into shape.

We also use the tablet holder on the treadmill to hold an Amazon fire 10" table that is used exclusively for movies while running on the treadmill. It seems it could hold at least a 12" tablet too.

The fan works well enough to cool off a bit and the speakers are plenty loud. A treadmill is a pretty significant purchase and we are quite happy with this unit. We would buy again... Just wish it had bluetooth connectivity... Maybe next time!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great treadmill so far!
Reviewed in Canada on December 9, 2016
Great treadmill so far! It takes about 4 hours to assemble so don't be in a hurry to hop on it and go for a jog out of the box. There seem to be a lot of bells and whistles which I have yet to discover. The fan is a great bonus! It's very quiet so I can run full tilt and not disturb anyone upstairs. The folding works really well although I don't plan to use it too often. The deck is very comfortable and the flex deck really helps with that. The front of the treadmill track stops a bit far away from the consul. I would have liked them to be closer. I often step on the plastic bit but I'm sure I'll get used to it. Oh, and I can't seem to get the consul to power down. It reboots every time I shut it off. Other than that, this is a great treadmill. I would give it a 4.5 if I could because of the things I don't like but I wouldn't go as low as a 4 because I am very happy with it. As the other reviews have stated, this is a great buy at this price point. You won't find a better treadmill with more features that costs less.

I love the program built in to keep fit.
Excellent fan, great scenery to look at and love the automatic incline.

The box had pieces to assemble and it was easier to watch YouTube Assemble.

The right wheel did not fit due too steel frame not properly cut. My husband went to Home Depot and purchased a steel file(called bastard). It took five minutes filing down the steel area to fix wheel. When there is will , there is always a way.

What an excellent fitness equipment and not too mention “AMAZON “ pricing “ EXCELLENT “ I couldn’t have done any better!!! We love Amazon!
Thank you!!!

1.0 out of 5 stars Console screen broken out of the box. replacement item stopped working 2yrs after
Reviewed in Canada on January 14, 2023
1-star to bad shipping/handling and flimsy electronics.

I bought this in 2019 and received a treadmill with a broken console. Not sure if it was broken by amazon or the courier. I contacted amazon for a replacement item immediately. The whole replacement was not difficult except that there's a lot of heavy lifting to and from my basement.

The replacement treadmill worked OK for about 3 years with occasional use (50hrs use time max). It stopped working in late 2022. The console does not power up.

In early 2023, I came across a webpage saying the problem might be a broken console. I opened up the console to debug the circuits. With a little bit of luck, I was able to fix it by removing the fan from the upper control board in the console. The fan was never able to spin from day one because it was stuck between two loose ground wires. My theory is that the stuck fan shorted the upper control board and caused the 12 volt Android system power supply to go down to 1.5V.

The mechanical parts seem to be better made. My overall experience with this is at most 1-star.

2.0 out of 5 stars Motor died after some time
Reviewed in Canada on March 16, 2024
I liked this treadmill along with the touch screen and everything but the motor died on me after mild use. Not impressed. I understand this isn't commercial/gym quality but still, it wasn't used that heavily so the motor dying is a slap in the face for the money spent.

4.0 out of 5 stars A month in - Some Good and Some Bad
Reviewed in Canada on May 15, 2019
A long review, but covers my experience from price to ifit setup.

Best to start with the price. We ordered when then treadmill was $1049 Can. April 2019. I have seen it go up as high as 1500 since then. How much is it worth? You will have to be the judge, but wanted to share what we paid.

It was being delivered by CEVA, as other reviewers seemed to have mentioned. I may be a little spoiled with regards to delivery of smaller packages from Amazon, so take it with a grain of salt. It was delivered within 2 weeks, so not horrible, but it was listed as going to be delivered by 8pm one evening, and it continued to say that right up until 7:59pm that night, then switched to unknown. 2 days later, they call to arrange a drop off.

The real issue with the delivery truck showed up with only one person. And this treadmill is heavy, with most of the weight on one end, so it was really awkward lifting. I am not sure if this was an excuse or not, but the driver told me "they are only paid to drop it off in the garage, and insurance prevents them from entering the house, but if I help, he will lift it to my front door".

Not sure if that is actual policy, but my experience, so be prepared for that.

The box is huge, so think about how you are going to move it once it is in your house, we had to remove most of the box to be able to manage to get it downstairs into the basement. It is an even more awkward lift when not contained in the box, as the motor and belt are attached and not locked in place.

Assembly was easy enough, it looked fairly complicated in the instructions, not clear at every step, but fairly intuitive. For the most part, you can manage to put it together yourself, but will need a second pair of hands to finish the setup, as you have to lift the belt assembly and attach bars underneath, no avoiding it.

And anyone with any experience with using allen keys putting stuff together, you know the pain of using the one that comes with the setup. But do NOT throw it away, after setup, it is used to adjust the belts.

Ours did come with a free year of iFit. It is a little orange gift card inside of the box. For those who do not know, there is a fairly large number of workouts developed that you can follow along with from the ifit company that downloads right to the console. Looks like it could be very cool and make something like exercise a little less boring. The actually free year of membership is a $550 "value".

The warning about the above. iFit is annoying as hell to get setup. When trying to redeem your free year, they want a credit card, "not because we charge you, but for renewal".

How I got around giving them a credit card.

First, DO NOT setup your account on the treadmill itself. You can do that from the console if you like, but I did start a chat session with iFit before that, and they mentioned there is a glitch that if you do, and enter a credit card, sometimes your credit card gets charged anyway. I am sure they will give it back, but a hassle.

Plus, mush easier to create your account on the ifit website directly. Once you have created your account, again, do not try and redeem your free year, it will still ask for a credit card. Call the activation number, and speak to a representative. They will ask for your account, which is your email that you used to signup, explain to them you do not want to use your credit card, because of that glitch (what I said) or some other reason, and they will activate the year once you provide your redeem number. They are only open from 8am-5pm Monday to Friday, can be annoying to have to wait if the treadmill shows up late on a Friday night.

Only had it for a few weeks, had to tighten the belt when we started using it, which is not unexpected, but so far so good. When stopping a workout, the belt can stop abruptly, so be prepared.
