The story Surviving the Storm (Surviving Series Book 2) by Virginia Wine is a contemporary romance book. It is a story that I loved reading and once started I got lost in its pages. The book does have some mystery and suspense that had me wondering what was going to happen next. I loved reading about the characters of Alexander Kincaid Storm III and Madison Perry. You can tell that these two have chemistry together. There is a passion that burns within them for each other. However, Madison is unavailable. His feelings for her are strong. There is a pull between them. Is there any chance of a future for Alexander and Madison? Read this book to find out. This story not only has the amazing main characters of Alexander and Madison, it also has characters that are brought forward from the first book in the series. I loved reading about the interactions and bantering that goes on between Alexander and Madison as well as their interactions with the other characters. This is a story that had my emotions going up and down right along with the characters. I found myself caring deeply about them and wanted them to find happiness. There are some steamy scenes in this book that will make the temperature in the room rise. There are heartbreaking as well as heartwarming moments. This is a wonderful continuation of the Surviving Series. I look forward to reading the next story.

After reading Surviving Eden, Book 1 in this series which could be read as a standalone, I wanted more and Book 2 certainly delivered! Surviving the Storm picks up where Book 1 ends. While it centers around Alex and Madison, I loved that Theo and Eden played a large part here and their story continued as well.

This continuing story is a very good mix of romance and treachery, but it's all the great characters and their undeniable chemistry that makes this such an enjoyable read. While not actually ending in a cliffhanger, the conclusion of Book 2 teases with hints of more to come which has this reader eager to see what else Ms. Wine has in store for these amazing characters.

Well worth your time.

Book two in the Surviving Series

What!? Just what!? Alex oh Alex, he fell hard and he fell fast! Madison has become his everything. Why is it so hard? (it is hard….but I meant HARD as in difficult...lol) ~ok so that’s me being me. The obstacles in their way were many. Would they be able to overcome them? Read on to find out.

Madison is in an abusive relationship, not just physical as we all know there is more than one way to control someone. The mental abuse she has endured from the idiot she is with makes my skin crawl. I get it, you cave time and time again not wanting to make waves. Thinking each time you can control it. Nah, that doesn’t work but inside that torment in your mind it works. I love and adore Madison, I love her character I love that she has found her brother (well he found her) I love that Alex instantly fell for her. I love her independence even though her relationship was what it was. I love that she took a chance with Alex knowing she was going to walk away (well at least try and walk away).

This story even though the erotic was there, even though all the sighs come to the surface and your gripping your tablet not wanting to stop reading…...there is a lesson here. We may lose those we love and as much as it tears you apart you must continue to live. No, the pain of loss never ever leaves but with time you ...well, you adjust. The second lesson here : Do not DO NOT ever let someone have control over you! DO NOT ever be afraid to LOVE who you LOVE! Do not ever…..ever compromise yourself for ANYONE! LOVE WHO YOU LOVE! BE WHO YOU ARE! BE FREE!

Now go read this series!

Surviving the Storm is the second book in Virginia Wine’s mind blowing Surviving Series. You should not read this story as a standalone as it has all the characters from the first book and you will feel at loss not knowing what had happened and how it all is linked!
Surviving the Storm gives us Alex’ story – Alex Kincaid Storm the third, who we met already in book one. A man who is NOT afraid of his feelings! A man that is the first to say that he is hurting, that he has found something that is so deep under his skin that he cannot imagine letting it go after only one night … And then we have Madison Perry, who is suffering but who still is able to recognize what it means to be truly loved and that just after one night …
The writer gives us insta love, suspense, action, drama, great chemistry, danger and secrets … so many secrets and lies … the story pulls you in and the characters won’t let you go! They bring you along on an emotional rollercoaster and there are moments when you feel that you want off and you simply do not have heart to read more as you experienced along with them what they were going through …
It is a great second book and as I have already read the fourth one (naughty me) then I know that the third one will blow us all out of water as well! Please keep on going and keep us gracing with more stories that remind us of our humanity and the power of love!

Surviving the Storm is the second book in the Surviving series by Virginia Wine. It is my favourite of the series so far. This is a great contemporary romance with an insta-love element, obstacles, suspense, tension, some action, secrets, lies, mystery, drama, great chemistry, danger, and more.
Alexander and Madison drew me into their story and kept me flipping the pages to find out how everything plays out. They really took me on an emotional rollercoaster ride- from anger, to heartbreak, and happiness- this story had it all. There were some parts that were a little difficult to read because I really felt for the character/s and what they had/were going through. I really got completely invested in these two characters and the outcome of their story. They really were so perfect for one-another, and I was cheering them on from the sidelines, the whole way, watching them deal with the obstacles they had to negotiate, wishing them to succeed- to find their happiness!
A great addition to the series and I look forward to reading more of this series.
