have had this lock on my door for a couple years now. it works great. the finish isnt coming off or fading oiut. it seems a good quality design. a little tricky to install, and has come loose twice and had to retighten it. this door get alot of use from alot of different people. we rent rooms out and alot of people haver had to figure it out. I would buy another one if needed. I got rechargable batteries for this. you have to spin them inside the compartment to make them make contact alot of the time and the batteries only last two to three weeks before having to replace them. easy to program and all that stuff. even the other half can do it.

I have had my lock since September 2015. I have had to change the batteries in my lock 1 time in this time period and the lock will let you know that the batteries need to be changed well before it dies. I use the red Duracell batteries and use the lock about 4-5 times per day on average. If you are putting the lock on an older existing door, you may run into some trouble if the bolt does not line up perfectly or is really tight, due to its mechanical nature. Installing the lock is as simple as unscrewing the old one and putting this one in the old spot with two screws. There is one wire to connect but it is reminiscent of the plug for cordless phone batteries. The setup and programming is very straightforward and easy and I programmed a couple of spare codes, just in case I wanted to give someone access and then delete the code later on. Before purchasing this lock there was the constant worry of locking the keys in the house on your way to work or juggling the groceries while trying to put your key in and then dropping it on the ground. It really couldn't be any easier to install this lock and based on my experience, I highly recommend the lock and would re purchase it.

We've been using this for about 1 1/2 years now. Love it. No worries about getting locked out or small kids locking us out :). Simply input the code you select and opens right up (you can set several codes, including one time codes if I recall correctly). To lock, you just press the top button. and it will give you different beeps depending on whether it locked or not. I think I've replaced the batteries only once, and I'm using the awesome Eneloop rechargeable batteries. As with anything with only a small electric motor, if there is a lot of resistance/friction, it will not open or close. But if you catch it in time and relieve the pressure, it will still operate for you. Mine works quite well as long as I haven't pushed in on the door too much.

The first lock I purchased did not work. Ordered another lock, and second lock did not work. My neighbor purchased one a year and a half ago, and it works fine. When we were installing both locks we noticed the quality was not there. Would not purchase again. I returned both purchases back to Amazon. Note, I understand some may have a better experience with this item than I did. I was very disappointed with both purchases. Would not purchase from this brand again. Was excited about a keyless lock, but will stay with the tried and true key and lock for now.

I've had this lockset on two doors for over five years and never had any problems with them. So when I needed a lockset for another door I automatically ordered yet another. They come with a full set of quality Duracell batteries installed. Nice touch. After installation I reset the factory default codes to make sure I was starting right. It gave a beep so I assumed all was well and started to set my own codes but they would not work. After a long time fussing about and trying several times, I did another factory reset and this time no beep. Got out my trusty multimeter and found three batteries at 1.2 volts and the fourth at 0.6 volts. I put in 4 new batteries and all was well. But basically that cost me at least a half hour extra time and 4 batteries, which I had already paid for with the purchase. Not fun.

We bought one of these about 6 months ago and within a week my entire family was completely sold on it !!! They are a wonderful device and every home should have at least one ! I have actually purchased 3 of them and just bought one for my father. I have yet to change the batteries and have had not a single problem. I was also very smitten with the ease of installation. I am not the handiest person in the world but was able to install and program the lock, without help, in less than 10 minutes. My only advice to any potential user is to replace the door knob with a knob without a lock on it - this keeps anyone from locking the knob before pulling the door shut. I bought "passage" knobs for each door from Home Depot for $11.00 ea. - boom, no accidental lock out.

I had to do this before when turning a key. The good part is that if it doesn't lock securely, it will give a failure beep and red light to let me know. I like the fact that I can program codes longer than 4 digits like many of the other locks. I just feel more secure with longer combinations. The price is right too. I'd definitely recommend this lock
