This miniPC met my expectations very well and in every respect - namely speed, memory and disk space, back panel connections as well as Windows 10 being a must. After a couple of months' usage I am quite pleased with its performance. I am a thoroughly experienced PC/laptop/all-in-one/server repair person and knew what to expect from a refurbished product. Being familiar with the complete Dell set of product lines as a Field Technician I can fix any issue that may crop up,and so far, no issues with this one. I have personally seen how only a few out of a hundred computers (~4%) actually fail throughout the Dell line, but thought the low price for the warranty was just pennies so I purchased it anyway.

The speed is actually more than I had hoped, especially for my net browsing and Photoshop needs. The unit arrived on time and I would recommend buying this product to likewise individuals as the price point is great, its form factor lends itself to easy out-of-the-way placement on my desk and for me the front panel has a certain stylish appeal. I did consider the Dell Optiplex 7010 but this model won out on price. Again, most pleased!

This unit was obviously used, with some scuffs here and there, but overall in really good shape. It was the 990 as promised, and I had no issues getting it to work. Setup was easy, and I am pleased with the performance for the price. I use it for office applications, and it works just great, a notable improvement over my laptop I have been using. It came with the USB WIFI adapter, as indicated in the product pictures. I do not have any complaints, and decided to order a second one.

Makes a great home computer

I like everything about it's performance. The only thing that doesn't format with it is the 4-port SIMO component selecter for several other seldom used components that allowed me to use my computer audio speakers for all 4 components. It was easy to set up but ,ugh, I had to reinstall programs that I had on my previous computer that died with a fried hard drive. Great low price!!! Now, after having this computer for 9 months I have had nothing but problems with it for the past 4 months. Computer freezes up and can only be shut down is to pull power plug to the machine. Restarts and problem fixes by Windows take up to an hour and today, the red went out of the color mix to monitor leaving a greenish blue tint to picture. I don't think this used machine was ever refurbished.

A great machine if you upgrade to an SSD

Firstly, the Dell Optiplex 990 is an older machine, which I was aware of. Before purchasing, be aware that you need a Windows product key, otherwise it won't boot. You need a disk or you can easily download Windows from another computer into a USB. And as for a product key, there are decent people in this world that post their product keys online. 100% legit, no problem.

My intention for this purchase was to see if I could I build an inexpensive retro game emulator PC. So I kept the additional components on the cheap side. I wasn't expecting much from a $130 dollar machine, so I knew it wasn't going to be too fast. The first thing I replaced was the hard drive with a used Samsung 860 EVO SSD on eBay for $75 bucks. You can boot your machine from the SSD, at a significant rate. In my case the HDD booted my machine in 4 and a half minutes. The SSD was in under a minute. Loading programs is never a problem. Now it's a $205 machine.

The next thing I needed to game with was a Graphics card. I bought a MSI Gaming GeForce 710 2GB GPU on eBay for $35. What that did was give me an HDMI port and upgraded the resolution on my machine once I downloaded the drivers. Up to 4k. But I brought it down to 1440p. I wasn't able to get any audio from my VGA cable at first, but once I downloaded the NVIDIA drivers, I was able to get audio to my TV, via HDMI. My machine was now $240. I did NOT have to upgrade my power supply or anything.

I wasn't expecting a free mouse and keyboard from the seller, which is appreciated. I took that to work since I didn't need it. I bought a cheap Logitech wireless keyboard/touchpad combo for $15.

I love my $240 setup since I was able to successfully build onto it. I watched endless YouTube videos on installing these components and it is not as intimidating as it looks.

If you're okay with unscrewing it out to get better wiggle room for a better power supply, GPU and cooling, then this is worth a but for budget PC builders.
