After Hours (The Boardroom Book 2) Kindle Edition

4.2 4.2 out of 5 stars 199 ratings

What’s your pleasure?

From Lynda Aicher, author of the bestselling Wicked Play books, comes an exclusive invitation to the Boardroom—where working late has its rewards.

The Boardroom. After hours, it’s where Bay Area moguls indulge their fantasies. Ties are loosened. Inhibitions, too.

Assistant Avery Fast watched from a distance, mouth gaping, blood roaring wildly in her ears as she stared at the naked woman on the table before her. At executive Carson Haggert ordering a man to pleasure her. It made her feel guilty, embarrassed…and hot.

Carson watched and waited. Waited for Avery to notice him in the Boardroom. Waited for her to like what she saw. Waited to see what she’d do the next day. And the next. He couldn’t let her go—not when she’d seen what goes on in the Boardroom. He couldn’t stop thinking about the desire in her eyes, the flush on her cheeks, her obvious arousal.

Getting her to join was easy. But now Carson wants Avery all to himself.

I really enjoyed the story of Avery and Carson. They had a most unusual start to their relationship involving the "Boardroom" itself. They each had their own issues they brought to the table. Carson, handsome, intelligent, kinky, likes to watch and direct those in the boardroom, but wants nothing to do with relationships because of things that happened in his past. Avery, grew up in the Midwest, naïve, beautiful, has a very hidden kinky side that she desperately wants to explore but because of what she has been taught all her life afraid to explore that. Great story of two kindred souls that are desperately seeking not only each other but absolution. Have very much enjoyed this series so far. Can definitely recommend and you can expect some very hot hot times in the boardroom and elsewhere!

I really enjoy Lynda Aicher's stories This seems like a real good start for another great series. I like the way it addresses women's sexuality and the ingrained restrictions women can put on themselves, rather than going for what they want and need. And, as always, great characters who you feel you really get to know. Looking forward to reading the next book.

Great writing and wonderful storytelling. Many of the same themes as other erotic romance run through this book. What makes this story so much more is the focus of acceptance. There is so much expectation of how a woman is supposed to act or present herself in society, that when the female lead decides to explore her kink, her feeings of shame, embarrassment and confusion stand in her way.

I enjoyed this story, it was a new twist and the Amazon writeup snagged my attention. I skipped the first book as it was .99 for 56 pages, so not worth it. You didn't need the first book to jump right into this story. It was a little slow and could have been better. The story was a flat line, until towards the end and you knew they were heading for the breakup by the secrets Carson was keeping, I expected more interaction with Drake to play a bigger part but nothing. I gave it a 3 star only because I really enjoyed the story line, but sure wish out of the 320 pages there would have been MORE, a little more drama, a little more of their kink and little more interaction within the office, more with the other characters etc. Had some editing errors that need correcting as well.

While voyeurism, the premise of this story. is not my kink, I thought it was a well-written story. The characters were well-developed and I liked them very much. It was a good story, and while the vehicle that brought Carson and Avery together was different, you couldn't help but be drawn into their lives and sympathize with their struggles with each other and each with himself/herself.

I gave this book a five rating because all of its elements combined to create a wonderful story. There was the uncertain female with enough courage and brains to speak her mind; the strong male with relationship issues who could recognize the real thing; the sex that was compelling but not overdone. This book was well written. I will look for other books from this author.

Avery walks in on scene where a woman is being pleasured by two men. Instead of running out she watches and finds that another man, Carson is in charge of what takes place. When she leaves she doesn't know how she's going to react tomorrow at work when Carson comes to see her boss as he does most days.

This book taught me again different strokes for different folks. What Avery learns is this is not a one time happening and she is intrigued by what she learns from Carson himself. She may have started out vanilla but she soon learns that her tastes are not.

I love it when the "OMG, I think I love her" hits a man like a ton of bricks. Good characters. Good description of work environment and co-workers. I enjoyed the story despite struggling with a few things that a good editing could have taken care of.
