Wow, so much quieter than my Bostitch.
I have earned my living as a professional woodworker for 48 years and it turns out you can teach an old dog new tricks. I have used a similar Bostitch compressor (see pics) for years. But it rattled the house and my ears from day one. Tried this California Air Tools compressor for the past few days and am amazed how quiet it is. Quieter than my bandsaw before feeding wood. I measured the noise levels of both compressors at one yard with my iPhone. Bostitch measured 87 and the California at 68.db. I will leave it to the math nerds to quantify the difference, but the new one is likely several times quieter. You really can carry on a conversation standing right next to it. Way to soon to tell about durability but I think I'd be willing to buy one every year for the quiet. BTW I paid $185 on Amazon December 13, 2023. Not sure why it is showing $250 now. Now if only they made wood planers.

amazing compressor, so quiet and low power use. my old compressor was very noisy, slow and was a power hog. this one has been great. It does lack a little higher CFM air tools but gets the job done if you give it a little time to recover. If I had to buy again I might go for the slightly larger size.

I purchased this particular compressor because of all the so quite reviews. I have to admit this is the most quite air compressor I have ever been around. I do a lot of remodel projects in our home, where we all live, so noise was a big factor in deciding on purchasing this one. It is quieter than our countertop icemaker for sure. The unit handles my framing nailer without any problems. So, many quick hit tools this machine will work well.

But there are a few drawbacks that one should be aware of before purchasing.

1. For a small compressor it is super difficult to move around. The handle is low so if you try to lift with the handle and stand up you will be dragging it on the back because the wheels will be off the floor. So if you want to roll it you have to be hunched way over. I usually end up picking the thing up and carrying it. But this is difficult if it is plugged in and the air hose is extended.
2. I have not tried to apply wall texture with it, but I have attached the blow nozzle to dust off and the compressor does not have much capacity before it kicks on to recharge. The recharge time is a little slow as well. So, I am not sure this will work with a texture gun. Or I should say it may be real slow going spraying texture with this unit.
3. The gauges are in not easy to read places. It sits low to the ground so both gauges should face up. You about have to get on your knees to see the one gauge.

Overall, I am very happy with the purchase and I would purchase again. It is well built, quite and will work for most small applications for home improvement projects. If you do a lot that requires higher volume of air output I would look for a higher capacity unit with quicker recharging.

Once assembled, this compressor runs fine and is amazingly quiet. Two small complaints: The packaging was too frail for such a heavy item. The white styrofoam fell apart and the cardboard box sustained several major crush points. However, the compressor seems unharmed. Even more disappointing, the bolts meant to attach the wheels were too short, so I had to discard the washers to get them to thread into the holes. Once attached they seem to work okay, but if they fail, I'll have to buy longer bolts and maybe even do other repairs. These are details, but the compressor wasn't the cheapest one I could have bought. The details should have been right.
