Now to address the issue of the Blue Yeti microphone and it working with this stand. I can tell you that you WILL need to get the version with the extra metal adapter as that shockproof microphone clip DOES NOT work with the Yeti. This was something that scared me too as well as I had read Yeti reviews that sometimes the hole needed for attaching it to a mic boom is sometimes poorly made by them and some of the holes are either not wide or big enough for mounting. Mine did not seem to have that problem which was a huge sigh of relief even though Yeti does carry a two year warranty for their products and would replace the mic with a new one for that problem.
In the end this mic boom works like a charm for someone who has a loud keyboard and is a loud typer which was picking up with the original mic stand given by Blue for the Yeti. Now when I am in discord with friends playing a game and have to type to someone quickly. I can type to them and it no longer sounds like the fist of the gods raining down in the ear drums of my friends. I am sure they are happy. LOL
I am please to say that this boom arm is well worth it. The mount for your desk/table is plenty wide. I have a think desk from Ikea and this fit nicely. I boom does not bounce when moving it either.
I did not use the included mic holder as my Marantz MPM-2000U came with its own. I also did not need the extra threaded screw to attach this other mic holder.
The only thing that is really missing is a clip or something to hold the mic wire down the arms. I used some of this velcro like tape that I got from the hardware store that was meant to hold Christmas lights onto things. Works well enough as I can slide the mic wire around as needed.
Here is the biggest flaw (arguably a design compromise more than a design flaw, since it's a cheap way to get it done): By far the most useful way to move around a microphone, in my view, is horizontally. Watch the video at the top of the listing by the seller for how the mic stand is mounted to the clamp: it's just a tube put in a hole with a screw against it, you tighten the screw to prevent the tube the stand is attached to from falling out. This means you have two options: tighten the screw enough to be pretty secure, or leave it loose enough to rotate without rotating the entire clamp at the same time (you can wiggle the clamp off a desk if the attachment between the stand and clamp are too tight during stand rotation). I don't really feel like there's a happy medium between me having no worries that the mic stand will fall out of the hole, and that it can rotate comfortably. This is a design flaw and not a result of any manufacturing issue. A more complex solution would of course make it more expensive so I guess you get what you pay for. Bear in mind this is one thing you are making a compromise for for the price. It's usable, especially if you don't care about horizontal rotation.
Play around with the tightness for horizontal rotation start loose, and you'll just be able to pull the stand out with little resistance, tighten a bit until there's too much resistance to rotation and the clamp starts to move; at that point it may also be worth tightening the clamp (obv the part tightened onto the desk itself) though you do risk damaging your table as the rubber pads aren't that resilient to a large amount of pressure).
The second flaw is that it has been difficult, even with a pliers and a screw driver, to get everything to be at the right level of tightness I want to support my mic, which really isn't massive although maybe heftier than average. I have gotten it to a point where it's satisfactory.
I haven't found it to droop gradually and it hasn't broken.
Top reviews from other countries
I would have loved it to be a little taller so it would come over my 27" monitor in a more elegant way.
Every desk has different dimensions, every monitor is in a different distance to the border of the desk. and everyone likes his/her monitor at a different height, so outfitting this with a desk clamp might be not the most obvious choice from a UX perspective.
It is difficult to assess the right length on beforehand. It will not work well with a 27" iMac from a height perspective for sure and those are not height adjustable.
