It just wasn't for me, it didn't capture my attention. The plot wasn't particularly original and I didn't realise it would read like a PG13 YA novel even though they were collage aged. It all felt very familiar with no stand out features and due to the YA quality, it didn't have chemistry.
I didn't mind Colton as a character but I still wasn't invested in their relationship. As i said, at the end of the day it just wasn't for me.

I enjoyed this story, Colton and Mia were likeable characters. I loved how Colton pursued Mia and how attentive he was to her. Mia and her insecurities were annoying at times but I'm happy she got through it

All in all a great read. The secondary characters were good as well. Nick and Kaitlyn were two of my faves after Mia and Colton.

I have to say I got to this title and to this author by chance, thanks to the book being free! It was not a waste of time as often happens when an eBook is available for free. The story, though nothing new and unheard of, unfolds in a very nice way. The protagonist Mia is a girl with personality and so is Colton - not at all the clichèd quarterback who one reads about in most stories of this genre. Their interaction is fresh, witty, funny and pushes the reader to turn page after page to discover how they are going to get where we all know they are going to from the beginning of the book. Because this is no big revelation!
I have to say that I thought Mia was far too naive and easily manipulated at some point of the story, which I didn't think reflected her personality which had been beautifully drawn by the author. I mean, I would have probably told Mia to get lost after she cuts Colton off for the 10th time without letting him explain himself. It is very childish and a bit unreal in that context. Also, the story speeds up so much at some point, rushing to the end so fast that it left me a bit puzzled. Why not take the time to give justice to everything in a proper way since the author has done so well in setting everything up at the beginning? This is the reason I gave it three stars and not four. As a romance it really works though, it is worth reading for a bit of light entertainment!

This YA romance debut book by Gianna Gabriela is a must read and perfect for anyone! I could not put it down!

Mia’s world fell apart when she came home for break one year and she wakes up to her parents arguing and her Dad drinking. Her Tragic family history after that changed Mia from the easygoing person that she was into one who was focused on getting an education and keeping herself protected from heartache.

Colton was the star football player who wanted to play professionally, but was determined to get a good education in case that didn’t pan out. He had partied hard his first couple of years becoming a ladies man but the situation that he was hiding forced him to grow up, mature and he took responsibility not only for himself but for his twin brother and sister. His incredible guilt caused him to be too protective of everyone he cared about.

When they meet their relationship is full of sparks. She is different than anyone he has ever met. She is not caught up in his Football royalty status. She doesn’t treat him special and gives back more snarkiness than she gets! I love their dynamic! She is behind him 100% as she makes him work for their relationship and tries to teach him that he doesn’t have to be the strong one all the time!

I highly recommend this book and I look forward to the books to come! Gianna Gabriela is an Author I expect to see more great books from!

BETTER WITH YOU is the first book in the "Bragan University Series" and is a fantastic foundation for the books to come.

Bragan University IS football - Actually sports of all kinds.

BETTER WITH YOU features Colton who is the star quarterback and Mia. They have a meet cute (of course) and their relationship evolves from there.

This was a very enjoyable NA story. It flows well from beginning to end and as each character is introduced, it is done in such a way that I was able to keep track of all the characters and enjoy the story.

This sweet story made me grateful that I am no longer in college while at the same time made me nostalgic to be that age again.

I read the story in one sitting and immediately picked up book 2.
