This classic book has been on my radar for a couple years. I finally picked it up recently and was not disapointed. It giave me all the great advice and tools I needed to grow my consulting practice. The important thing is to take your time and do all the exercises, which I did. I am starting to put them into practice and seeing some results. This is a great book!

I work in web design and marketing services and this book is great. I've been reading lots of other marketing material over several months and what is in here isn't different on the surface from best practices for marketing yourself and finding more clients. Where this book I think is WAY better is the exercises/homework assignments, the way the material is organized, and the confidence and communication skills of the author. I feel like this is the sort of material I would learn if I spent $2K-$4K or one of those 3 month coaching workshops you see advertised all over the web these days. Except this is a paperback book. If you are in a services industry of any kind, just buy this book. Hopefully it will change how you do business and get clients they way it is changing mine.

One of the best books I've read. Realistic, applicable exercises that you can put into practice as you read the book. I downloaded the workbook and it became the framework to update my business plan. I'm going thru the book again, as I execute on my strategy. A book I now keep by my desk, not the bookshelf. Easy and very applicable principles. Thanks Michael.

My criteria for recommending a book is that the book must give relevant information that can be put to use immediately. Book Yourself Solid does that.
I read the book while listening to the Audible version and working through the workbook. I learned a lot about myself and the types of clients I have been attracting; the clients I now want to attract; and how to go about getting them.

This is a really good book. My issue with it is the quality of the binding. Whole sections have already fallen out.

I feel I stepped into a different gear after reading this "manual" for service professionals.

Makes think (and take action) on areas such as who you are, what makes you unique, who you serve, where they are, how to connect with them and bring them into your world.

Yoga instructors, photographers, language teachers... a must for any solopreneur in ANY field.

Wow,this book is exactly what i have been looking for since a very long time with regards to marketing. This is in fact the best book that i have ever read on marketing for service based professionals especially. I am a freelance full stack developer and I myself have been struggling and looking for ways to market my business.In fact I am an introvert and hate sales and marketing.But after reading this book,I am re-invigorated and inspired to take the necessary steps mentioned in this awesome book to expand my service-based business.

I already decided to fire a few clients from the first few pages of the book because of the reasons Michael provided in the book. And I already feel in control of my business. Feels good.

I even loved that he provided a printable workbook to go along with the book to store all my answers! Very helpful. And already see some progress in the way I am thinking and handling my clients.

I'm currently finishing up Chapter 2. No doubt, after a few more Chapters and exercises I will see it all come together even faster.

I will return to this review with an update on how this goes.
