I usually use this with Garageband on iOS for on the go recording, and with Logic at home.
VX provides three modes;
- 1/4 Input + Mono Microphone. I find I use this for recording acoustic from the microphone & taking the output from the electronics. One signal gets sent to the L and one to the R. Very easy to set to record to separate tracks in most audio applications.
- Stereo Microphone ( L / R ). Moving the VX around will net all sorts of different results. Great for ambient sounds.
- 1/4 Input. This is probably my least used mode.
Problem two, once the 30-pin connector cable arrived, which was about a week after the Sonic Port VX arrived, I connected the Sonic Port VX to my iPad 3 and plugged in my guitar. Nothing came out. The Sonic Port VX did not work with Line 6’s own Mobile POD app; it did not work with the Jammit app; and it did not work with Garage Band. A search on Line 6’s own website revealed that this is not an uncommon problem. Check out this link. http://line6.com/support/topic/1667-sonic-port-not-recognized-by-mobile-pod-app/ It also did not work with my MacBook Pro. It is a defective unit. According to the comments on Line 6's own forums website, this is not an uncommon problem. Lots of other purchasers have experienced these very same problems. So now I have to make two (2) returns -- I have to return the defective Sonic Port VX to Amazon.com and I have to return the “Mobile Keys 3ft iOS Adapter Cable” to Line 6. I cannot believe that the company which made the three great products that I use and like - GuitarPort, Micro Spider and Pocket POD Express -- also made this defective product.
I had long wanted the iPad to act like a good quality effects unit. Amplitube never seemed to sound convincing enough to me and I could never quite understand the tape recorder. But with the Line 6 Mobile Pod and GarageBand, I am truly inspired to doodle. The Mobile Pod has depth and air and a high degree of transparency.
I love the headphone socket on the unit, I can plug in my Audio Technica headphones that have a large jack cover.
The unit is relatively large because of the microphones, but not too large for mobile recording.
A well thought out and inspiring product.

4- 1 entrada mini jack Aux in
5- 2 salidas jack mono
6- 1 salida mini jack estereo
